Are your kids using SnapChat? Guardian request re: sexting/bullying

Hello, I'm a journalist on the Guardian, and I'm looking into a new iPhone and Android app called SnapChat that has become wildly popular in recent months in the US, particularly among teenagers. It works by allowing users to send pictures to friends which then completely self-destruct in a maximum of 10 seconds. Facebook Poke is a direct rip-off/copy.
The app has been pretty controversial in the US (and elsewhere) because of its supposed use by teens for "sexting" - sending sexually explicit images by text - and also because it would seem to be the ideal tool to use for bullying, since the messages disappear without trace (though obviously there are ways to get round this).
Evidence that it's actually been used for this is hard to find, though. I wonder if any Mumsnetters have come across this, perhaps being used by your teenage children, and what your (and their) experiences are.
Alternatively, you might not have heard of the app but might have concerns about sexting and/or electronic bullying by other means.
If you were willing to get in touch I'd be most grateful, please email me at esther.addley@guardian.co.uk
Responses can be completely confidential if you prefer.
Many thanks, Esther
