Hello Mumsnet!

I am a final year Psychology student at Glasgow Caledonian University, and am currently conducting my final research project. I am investigating parental knowledge of cyberbullying and parental levels of concern towards children’s internet use. I am also interested in how these factors affect the type of cyberbullying prevention strategies parents use with their children. Recent research suggests that 38% of children living in the UK were affected by cyberbullying in 2011 (NSPCC, 2011). Consequently, I am very interested in investigating how parents view cyberbullying and what strategies they use to protect their child from online risks.

If you have a child aged 9-16 years old that uses the internet, and would like to find out more about my study please copy and paste the link below in to your web browser.

You will be directed to a page that provides you with further information about the study. I advise you to read this thoroughly as it will explain the nature of the questionnaire and what will happen to your data. If you like to discuss my research further, please feel free to email me (njenso200@caledonian.ac.uk).

Please pass this link on to your friends and family who also have children aged 9-16 years old, as the more responses I can gather the more I can inform and help guide current practice in terms of cyberbullying prevention.

Thank you for your time,

Natassja smile

Thanks smile I'd really appreciate every response I can get! I've only had a limited number of responses so far, and need as many people to respond as possible! It's research like mine that can start and change the way people address cyberbullying within their families, schools, communities and potentially at a much higher level! Please pass this onto your friends and families smile
