Hi,
I am a researcher at the University of Hull exploring the psychological impact of private 3D ultrasound scans in pregnancy. I am particularly interested in how these scans affect bonding with the baby before birth and what effect they have on parents possible anxieties and sense of control. I am also interested in why parents choose to have a 3D scan and how they experience these scans. For this study, I am looking for participants (both women and men!) anywhere in the UK who have decided to have a 3D scan in pregnancy, but have not yet had the scan.
Taking part in this study would involve completing questionnaires and/or interviews. All information provided will be treated with complete confidentiality and participants can withdraw from the study at any point. If you are interested, you can find more information on www.3Dscanstudy.com, or by contacting me on 07775 276315 or info@3Dscanstudy.com.
Best wishes,
Fran Wadephul

Is this just for people pg now? i.e. before they have the scan?

Hi,
yes, at the moment I'm looking for pregnant women (and partners) before they've had the scan as I'm interested in finding out how the scan changes perception of the baby, bonding etc.

Hi,
me again...
We are still looking for participants for this study. We particularly still need women and men to complete the questionnaires. There are three questionnaires in total (one before the 4D scan, two afterwards), each takes about 20 minutes to complete. This is done entirely by post, so it doesn't matter where you are, as long as you are in the UK.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Fran
