Hello! I'm starting 7th March. Following the book to the letter and writing up a really in depth plan before I get started 😂
Have you started already? How are you finding it?

Hey there I'm on day 3 today, don't have much to lose ideally 4 ibs but it's a type of experiment after doing high fat low carb which I just couldn't get my head around all the animal fat, think this is more vegetable based.

How are you finding it teddycat? Have you been low-carbing for a while? I'm a carb fiend so will find the first few days tough

Day two here and the headache isn't as bad as yesterday which I'm taking as a positive sign!

It's fine otherwise- i think the key thing is to be prepared. I am also planning to have leftovers from tea for breakfast as much as possible...roaster sweet potato slices and chicken this morning was a bit random, but it didn't half fill me up!!

Teddy I hope to lose a pile of weight, but am also really interested in the whole internal health thing. I've been low carbing for a while, but with dairy, and the affect of that on my skin was impressive. I think I will struggle without milk (hence caffeine withdrawal headache) but am going to give it a really good go!!

What are you having for tea tonight?

I did low carb for 6 weeks, positives were not bloated and always full; negatives felt nauseous and had diarrhoea quite frequently and just didn't seem right to eat so much fat.

So for this so far... I'm hungry. Trying not to eat between meals but having to eat nuts and avocado, but it definitely feels healthier. Biggest challenges will be peanut butter and dark chocolate.

Tea tonight is steak and sweet potatoes which is a staple of ours anyway and maybe another avocado I love them.

Sounds good. Life took over here tonight so I just had the most ridiuclous meal of mashed butternut squash with an egg. Yuk!

(Said two hours after the importance of planning line!)

Day 4 and after a nut fest yesterday i realised that nuts make me bloated and windy, mad I never knew, I suppose i always put it down to other foods but its the only thing it could be. I googled it and apparently it's a definite culprit.

3 fried egg and vegetable hash this morning, really nice. Chicken curry for tea in the oven.

Not as hungry today but mad in work so distracted.

Hi, I'm now on day 4 of low carbing.. It's been so far so good however I've woke up and am craving fruit really badly. I would always have my 5 a day and I really really miss it now.. So much so Ive just googled a list of low carb fruits. I'm not strictly sticking to Atkins but trying to keep to 20g carb for two weeks to kick start a good weightloss

The fruit and veg is the reason I think this Whole30 is more balanced I definitely couldn't get the not eating bananas a and apples when I wanted a fresh snack.

I'm also starting 7th March, half way through It Starts With Food at the moment so should be finished by Monday (this is my second attempt, I started one a few weeks ago but wasn't overly prepared and fell off spectacularly so I'm getting all ready this time, although it's really not difficult when you put it in simple terms so I have no excuses really)

Hi everyone, just starting day one today and feeling positive! I have 30 days until my hen party so I'm going to make the most of it and hopefully I'll look a bit better in my lovely sparkly dress Grin

I miss tea with lashings of milk. It's a strange thing to miss but that's the only thing that's got me so far.

Would one cup a day kill me?

Yes, because it would change your mindset and then other things will creep in too. (Obviously it won't hurt or make any real difference but it's what it represents )

Without wanting to sound like the food police or anything, it wouldn't kill you but it wouldn't really be whole30. If they/we/you said ok to it then you might as well say ok to a glass of wine a day or something else off plan.

Having said that, I wouldn't want my saying that to put you off the whole thing! But it's still early days when the cravings will hit so I'd give it a bit longer to see if they go away Smile

(I realise I am a hypocrit as I've already admitted I caved before, but I regret it now, it wasn't worth it!)

Cross post- teddy said it more succinctly than me!

I do paleo which I believe is where whole 30 comes from. I don't have any dairy but have coconut milk or hemp milk in my tea, on my granola or with stewed apples and cinnamon.

DakotaFanny · 03/03/2016 21:42

I have bought some coconut milk. It's not the same AT ALL!!! Boo!

Of course its not the same but after a couple of weeks it starts to taste normal and milk starts to taste weird. When I have to have milk in tea now it tastes very cheesy and I hate it. I am eating this way to be the healthiest version of me that I can. So if its important then you will make the changes that are best for you.

Dakota how are you doing with the Whole30? I have been eating paleo but have let a few too many paleo treats creep in so although I havnt gained weight, I haven't lost any more either.
