Ideas for LC hot lunches out?

Have lurked on the low carb threads for a while and tried it on and off, but I really need to kick the sugar, bread and crappy processed food so am thinking of low carbing again properly as I think this WOE will really suit me and I need to lose about a stone.

I have lots of ideas for meals I like and can eat but my big downfall is when I am out and about for work as I much prefer hot food to cold, so hate it if I have to buy a pre-packed salad or meat/cheese etc and eat it fridge cold.

I sometimes take food with me or buy it earlier in the day so it warms up a bit, but am really asking for ideas of hot food that I can buy as I’m a bit stuck really as so much that is available is unhealthy carby crap.

The only things I have thought of so far is carvery (meat and veg only obviously) or, say two McDonalds double cheese burgers and only eat the burgers and cheese.

Any other ideas? Carveries are not always conveniently located and I’d like something other than McDonalds preferably.

I also need to find some discipline from somewhere because I’m sure there are a few other pub meal style things that would be good (mixed grill etc) but I’d have to be able to say no to the chips and onion rings.

But mainly looking for takeaway ideas as don’t always have time for a pub meal, and they can work out expensive.

Have you thought about a food flask to take something hot with you?

I tend to go for soups (marks and Spencer cafe), stir fry noodles, small versions of evening meals like stews, chilli con carne and shepherds pie.

Innocent veg pots, or the fuller longer balanced meals if you have access to a micowave (they all taste very similar after a while though).

I work in a town centre though so I'm quite lucky.

time noodles, shepherds pie etc are not low carb!

I'm sorry I can't help OP as I can't really think of anything. I often have dinner leftovers but I heat them in the microwave which obviously you don't have.

sayraT sorry I meant the rice noodle kind rather than egg noodle.

Having shepherds pie with cauliflower on the top rather than potato makes it a low carb option and it tastes awesome (but no good for you op for eating out, sorry for including!)

Restaurant-wise, Nando's is a good one... Don't know if you can take away though...

I don't think the Innocent Veg Pots are low carb either are they? Don't they all have some kind of pulse, or rice/pasta in them?

Oh - I'd forgotten - Innocent are discontinuing their Veg Pots anyway
