Low-carb diets

What is a fat bomb and why do I need to eat them?

Hi all, trying to get my head around proper low carbing before bootcamp starts on the 19th.

What are fat bombs? Why do I need to eat them? How often should I eat them?

Any other fat bomb "rules" I need to know?

Also, any good fat bomb recipes out there?

I tried them once but didn't like them. They're not necessary for Bootcamp. Some people find they have difficulty getting enough fat in their diets so fat bombs could be useful there but they're fat from essential.

I have low carbed for a while and never eaten one.

I wouldn't have thought that they were Boot Camp friendly as they often contain sweetener or dark chocolate. I used them when I was struggling to get my fat up a bit but I found that they made the sugar craving worse as they are quite like sweets. Now I just have a spoonful of coconut oil if I think I'm low on fat. My fat can drop a bit as I have two Slimming World fanatics in the house. I tend to cook everything low fat and then add fat to mine as butter, cream etc. which is why I tried fat bombs. Don't worry about them and just stick to BC rules.

Does a low carb diet have to be high in fat? Just asking as I have started on a diet this week. I don't count my daily intake of carbs. But I don't eat anything that has more than 4 grams of carbs per 100g.
I have never thought about checking things like fat etc aswell (although I do eat a fair bit of cheese).

I have lost 4 pounds in my first week. Is that ok going?

what the heck is a fat bomb?
therenter-I think eating the right fats in a low carb diet is fine , fats like olive oil etc but if you stuff too much cheese down the weight loss is slower.

But I like cheese- it's so much nicer than olive oilGrin

I know ..it's fine ...just carry on and eat loads of cheese. Let me know if the weight still comes off and I'll start .

It may just be me after all.

Lol - I doubt it. Might have to cut back on the cheese a bit then.

Thanks everyone. Think I'll give them a miss.

I'm a belly pork addict so I don't think I'll struggle with my fat intake!
