Recipes online seem to have lots of bizarre ingredients and possibly more American ingredients - anyone have any yummy low carb dessert recipes that don't need a chemistry degree to make?!

I made a really easy peanut butter/choco "mousse" tonight. I just whipped together a tub of extra thick double cream with 2 tablespoons of peanut butter (Aldi's, it was 1.9 per 15g) and a table spoon of cocoa powder (I used Hershey's which is 1.2 gram carbs per tablespoon). Was very tasty, even the kids loved it.

Schro did you refrigerate it after? Was it sweet? Sounds yummy and easy peasy

At this time of year, just eat strawberries and/or raspberries with double cream!

Chocolate mousses are good - dark choc, egg and cream usually.

There are a couple of nice dessert recipes on the Bootcamp recipe thread

It went a bit hard in the fridge, if you put the ingredients in the fridge before using it will be nice and cold though!

Yeah it was really sweet enough for me but you can add Stevia to make it sweeter if you like. Maybe grate a bit of 85 or 95% choc on the top.

I have started making frozen yogurth out of soya yogurth. just add Stevia and vanilla extract. I have been thinking about adding berries but have not tried it yet.
I once made chocolate mousse out of avocado with vanilla extract, cocao powder and honey. It was ok but obviously doesn't taste quite like the "real" chocolate mousse.

How about a chocolate fondue? Melt dark chocolate and a knob of butter in double cream then dip berries in. I do this for dinner parties and can also buy sugar free marshmallows at a local shop to use for special occasions

I also make a lemon mousse based on a recipe in the Atkins book which is lovely and very rich

Sugar-free ice cream - dead simple.
Chop a banana into slices and place in the freezer.
Once it's frozen, use a blender ( a hand one will do) to puree it with a small amount of cream (not too much or it's too runny).
It tastes and looks like 'just melting' ice-cream.
Not sure if it works with other fruits but I'm going to try.

but if it's got banana in it, it isn't a low carb dessert, DogsRus73! Fruit, and especially banana, is high in sugar.

Sorry, my bad, I'm paleo rather than low-carb. Wrong thread!
