Low carb diet questions

Have started low carbing last week as my sis has had great results but feel like it won't be doing my cholesterol levels any good with all the fat like butter/ cream etc. Also feel like am eating too much meat. Am I wrong in thinking that?

Completely get the fact it's healthier because sugar is cut out of the diet but can't get my head around the fats bit.

Maybe I need to do some more reading up on it. What is a good beginner's guide to low carbing?

You do need to read up a bit, this is a very healthy way to eat for life not just a short term diet, try

And look out for books by Gary Taubes, and Stephen Phinney to name just a few.

Also look at this site which is paleo based but a huge source of information

I understand it's healthy but share your anxiety about too much meat. I have an inner wannabe vegetarian who adores pulses and have huge environmental guilt about meat consumption so I do find that I have lower carb intentions that don't last all that long. I never do meaty breakfasts (veg omelettes) or lunches (usually salads & cheese & nuts/soup & cheese/veg curry/stirfry with cashews or omelette strips/ more eggs etc) but it's the dinners that get hard. I don;'t want meat every night, I really don't. So we end up being low carb some days and pulse-y on others, but still low sugar/grain.

I suppose i have accepted that I am a carb reducer, not a low carber.
