Low-carb bootcamp

Week 8 - Pre-summer Low Carb Bootcamp

Morning all!

The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here

Looks, at last, as if we have a bit of sunshine - at least Darn Sarf.

A bit of a less fraught week for me, so it may even be possible that I hit the gym mid-week, which I haven't done for months.

I'm avoiding the scales this Bootcamp, but tried on a couple of dresses I bought a few weeks ago, which were a little on the tight side. One of them fits perfectly now, and the other one is almost there, so I know things are working. But I know that I've a way to go before I'm 'there'!

Hope those of you who are weighing have a good result today!

Here's to another successful week.

Thanks for the new thread BIWI.

I wasn't as well behaved this weekend as previous ones some homemade cookie dough may or may not have passed my lips with my 2 g&t's on Saturday, but I'm still delighted with another loss of just over 3lbs since Monday. Hovering around the 1.5 stone off still.

Good luck everyone 🍀

I am so not in the right frame of mind this bootcamp. Another week another gain. This week's excuse is the sick bug that hit our household. 4/5 of us have had it and the other one has random temperatures and a cough.

Grrr I am so annoyed with myself.

173.8 if someone can update for me please?

I'm wearing a Lindy Bop dress, which I bought in the January sale but found it was far too tight, for the first time Grin

I can't believe I've stuck with this until week 8 - it's coming off slowly, but it's definitely coming off!

Slightly concerned that DH will gain weight as I'm adding lovely fat to everything I cook for us but he's still eating carbs. He's a proper carb fiend and has no interest in packing them in - still, that's his lookout! The kids I'm less fussed about as DD is stick thin and quite fussy but will devour yoghurt with cream added and DS seems to have a ridiculous metabolism and hollow legs.

2lb off, but I am still getting rid of the huge weight gain my carby weekend caused a couple of weeks ago. Still a stone down since I started though!

Here's to a good week for all of us!

Another 1lb lost so that's 12lb altogether. I'm beginning to feel less frustrated that it's seems so slow and more pleased that keeps happening.

I have had an odd cheat. A gluten free wrap one night, some SF jelly and cream, some hummus, a piece of watermelon etc (over the course of bootcamp lite, not all this week) but I have no desire for cake, chocolate, sweets, biscuits etc. and we don't eat out so that probably saves me. Our school holidays have started so things may get harder. I must KOKO.

Hope everyone has good losses this week.

Stayed the same this week but no huge surprise. I don't have a lot left to lose so I'm expecting it to be a slow process with some stalls. The scales were hovering a bit between two numbers so at best I may have lost 0.5lb but will assume no loss his week.

Congrats to all who have lost!

Good morning all. Three pounds off this week, I put on a pound last week though so two really. I'm hoping I can loose two again this week and that will be my first stone gone.

I too had a dress success this morning. Instead of an over stuffed or stuffed sausage as previously I now look like a nicely rounded pork sausage. I think I may be ok to wear it this week. I've a long way to go but am optimistic as this hasn't really felt like dieting at all.

Well done to those with the losses and KOKO to those not so happy this week. Oh and can't believe we've completed eight weeks.

Can somebody add me please.

Veryflummoxed 203 Nearly put 103. Now that would have been a good lossGrin

I've put on this week but I'm not surprised as I had my first couple of blips. Onwards and downwards.

Is so frustrating at how easy it is for me to put on a couple of pounds but so bloody difficult to lose a couple. Argh!

131 if someone fancies entering for me. Weight loss seems to have stalled, but my barre core teacher commented immediately that I had lost weight. She even said I looked 'ripped' which I think was a bit of an overstatement to put it mildly…. Can barely walk today, but let's gloss over that.

Anyway, clothes continue to feel looser so will be relaxed about the rather lengthy plateauing on weight loss front. Not far off target anyway.

Stayed the same this week. No surprise as about to come on and also wasn't as strict as usual - too much dairy and a cheat with pakoras. Good luck everyone!

Urgh 2lb on for me Blush. No specific naughtiness, just carb creep - too much (90 and 99%) chocolate, too much dairy, too much peanut butter and crucially, no running for two weeks due to a pesky virus and lots of travelling with work. I'm doing the Great North Run in September and running is so much easier when you're lighter Grin.

I've been LC since Boxing Day and have lost about 24lb without ever feeling deprived or hungry so thank you BIWI for helping me find 'The One'! Although, scarily you crept into a dream last week - you were waving the big stick but you were someone I had met in real life..... a (very pleasant) patent lawyer I met at a conference a few weeks back. I have to call her as I need to look at some patent issues for work and I've been putting it off becasue of the stick dream - now I've written it down it sounds mad Blush.

Hope eeryone has a good week Smile

Just got a copy of the India Knight book - Idiot Proof Diet. Now I know what you lot have been going on about when you say IPD. So funny - I love the way she writes. Refreshing to have someone call a spade a spade!

Well done veryflummoxed. Nicely rounded sausage sounds a lovely look for summer.

I appear to be 2.6 down Monday to Monday. Very cheering.

Have been slow and it's now only just 6 pounds across the 7 weeks but it is steadily downwards. So KOKO. Progress is progress. Well done losers and hang on in there if you didn't. Your turn next week

Gutted, really fed up, just want to go an buy 10 a Krispy Kreme. Sad Week 4 with no loss. Sad Sad Sad Why isn't it working for me? I'm sticking to the rules, I'm sure I am but the weight is not moving. I might as well eat all the things I'm missing if this woe makes no difference.

I know that you are all going to tell me to give up dairy and I guess I'll give it a go but that is going to make it a lot harder to think of nice food and remove the 1 minuscule treat I was still allowed. Sad

Here is everything I have eaten for the last 6 days...
Fried belly pork, fried egg and courgette
Homemade belly pork & liver terrine, cabbage cooked in cream, broccoli
Salmon, spinach, mascarpone & blue cheese

Avocado, boiled egg, blue cheese
Salmon, cream cabbage, broccoli
Fried steak, spinach & courgette
4g 90%chocolate with 30g clotted cream

2 fried eggs with belly pork
Pork terrine with spinach, broccoli and mascarpone
Potted shrimps with lettuce
5 almonds with lettuce and butter.

Fried egg with courgette and steak
Salmon, spinach & blue cheese
Homemade chicken liver pate with courgette
Chicken with bacon & boursin & spinach

Avocado & steak
Pork terrine, 100g cauliflower, 2 tblsps mascarpone & blue cheese
Pork saltimbocca with sage butter (2.2g carbs) & lettuce

1 egg scrambled with left over pork, 2 tblsps greek yog & 2 tblsps clotted cream
Chicken liver pate, stilton & 5 cherries (that probably had worms in them)
Courgetti carbonara with green beans.

A cup of black tea every morning, a cup of fake coffee every other day and 3lts water.

I've been watching portion sizes and snacking as little as poss.

Why isn't this working for me???!!!

Someone help me before I go and get a chip butty for my lunch....

AuntieMaggie - the BLT wraps are just large lettuce leaves filled with bacon, a little bit of tomato and mayo. I find them really tasty and easy for breakfast.

I also have a friend who has lost twice as much as me by doing SW, and she started a week after me. We are similar weights too so its not that. I am KOKO with this woe though as it suits me, but it does grate a bit!

Mothership, your menu is very dairy heavy :( dairy doesn't seem to affect me but I know it can stall others, sorry! It's the only thing that stands out from your meals. I would be gutted too, but maybe just reducing it a bit will help?
