Hello, really hoping for some help from you knowledgeable types on here..I have signed up for BC starting next week but started following the rules three weeks ago by myself. I am trying to lose baby weight from DC2 who I had in January. From a weight loss perspective I am pleased - have lost 8lb already.

BUT I really have been feeling pretty dreadful - nauseous, shivery, headaches, exhausted, low mood - and it doesn't seem to be getting any better and I just feel at the end of my tether with it. I have read all the threads about 'carb flu' and followed the advice given - more fat, more water (prob 3 litres+), more salt on food, mug of chicken stock/Oxo cube etc... but based on today it doesn't seem to be helping!

Here is a sample day of eating from yesterday..

B: 2 egg omelette with ham, cooked w butter
L: Chicken breast and pack of stir fry veg cooked in veg oil, half an avocado
D: Chicken curry (shallots, tomatoes), FF yoghurt, courgetti
S: Cup of chicken stock, spoonful of double cream

On MFP this works out as 78g Protein 27g Carbs 78g fat.

Are some people just not suited to this WOE? I don't want to stop because I so want to lose this weight..but with a baby and a toddler feeling this awful is just too hard.

Please...any ideas? Will it get better or am I doomed?!

That doesn't sound like carb flu, to be honest - and I'm sorry you're feeling so poorly Sad

You've done all the right things.

The best way to check if it's about carbs would be to increase your carb intake. Try keeping everything else the same, but have a slice of wholemeal toast with your breakfast. By increasing your carbs like that, you'll see if it makes a difference.

Just one thing on your macros though - you should be higher fat than protein. It should be fat:protein:carbs, rather than equal fat and protein as you have now. (I can't see how this will make any difference to how you feel though)

Hope you're feeling better soon. Oh, and well done on the 8lbs!

Thank you so much for your reply BIWI - made me feel much more jolly after a tough day Smile

I actually woke up feeling a bit better this morning so have decided to stay with what I'm doing but just up my amounts of everything - my calories were actually pretty low and I think i could have just been hungry. Will see if that helps and if not I will follow your advice tomorrow.... I so don't want to stop as I am a) convinced by the science and b) loving the weight loss!!!
