Low-carb bootcamp

Week 9 - Low Carb Bootcamp - The End is Nigh!

Morning all!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And don't forget the Weight Tracker

As we get to the end of this Bootcamp, I'd like you all to think about how MNHQ can make our space even better for the next time around.

The original plan was to move to the Weight Tracker and drop the Spreadsheet, which would mean Willie wouldn't have to tend it all the time - but we seem to have kept it going for this Bootcamp. If we were to lose it next time, what do you think you would miss the most?

For me, I think definitely the information in the tabs needs to be transferred over somehow - but is there anything else you'd like to see?

Anyway, a busy week for me as I'm off to Lille Tuesday/Wednesday, up at 5.00 am tomorrow and not getting back home till around 10.00 pm on Wednesday. All I will see will the inside of a taxi, a French supermarket, an office block and another taxi - no time even to go out for dinner on Tuesday night!

And I have no idea what's going to happen on the food front as it's all out of my control But then, that's what this WOE is all about - making the best choices we can at the time.

So - good luck to you all, hope that the fine weather helps you have a great week Flowers

Have a great couple of days BIWI, even if it is all hard work )

I'm away from my scales currently so won't be able to weigh until Wednesday. Despite being away from home I'm managing to stick with it, though only drinking about 2l water per day and I suspect I'm having a bit too much proteins and cups of tea and not enough fat.

Happily I've not been tempted by fish and chips and cake which are featuring heavily for everyone else. I think I might now see this as the way I eat, not just a temporary weight loss plan. Which is good as I have a long way to go.

Thanks for the thread BIWI. I hope you have a good trip.

Still feeling nauseous. Water is the only thing I can really face. Will weigh tomorrow.

Good luck everyone.

I'm not weighing in this week so I'm going to enter STS. I have recently taken up more exercise which I suspect is impacting my weight loss and water retention as my daily weigh ins are fluctuating by around four pounds over the week so I suspect today's weight would be somewhat random. Hopefully by next week my body will have adjusted to it.

God I ate so much yesterday.

Omelette with bacon, mushrooms and cheese.
Creamy coffee.
Two squares of dark choc.
Nuts. Lots of nuts.
Bag of pork scratchings.
Roast chicken salad with pine nuts. Mayo.
Blueberries, ground almonds and cream.

I was starving all day! Probably due to slight hangover :(

Yes congratulations Trash for this week's loss!

Things I like from the spreadsheet are that it tells me the percentage of my weight lost so far; and the total amount lost so far.

From the spreadsheet I also get the sense I'm not doing this alone ... but obviously that is also apparent from the threads and the fact that the tracker's graph is much more successful is different to my own weight loss.

My own weight loss is going well - today I've reached half-a-stone off this bootcamp!

I do think that both the graphs on the tracker are upside-down by the way. We need to see the lines going DOWN!

Good luck with the trip BIWI it can be really annoyingly hard when you are constrained to eat carby food because you need to eat work-place-provided food.

Report

Well I have stayed the same, I think I had lost a lb or so until yesterday but did eat some carby food which won't have helped.
We travelled to Melton Mowbray for father in laws birthday. He wanted to go to a garden centre for lunch, there wasn't a whole lot of choice for a low carber.
He made me a huge smoothie with lots of fruit for breakfast so I HAD to drink some of it. At the garden centre I had Cajun salmon salad which as lovely but then ate a dish of Eaton Mess which was also lovely but carby.
But if you could see what I could have eaten.
There were cream teas, pies, chips etc so really I ought to be congratulated Grin
When we got back to father in laws house I did turn down some chocolate birthday cake. He then made us ham and cheese rolls to eat on the way home but I managed to avoid those, munching on a packet of pork scratchings instead.

Onwards and downwards! Good luck everyone Thanks

I had a bag of chips last night Sad and two pints. And fir the first time no-one said I'd lost weight and that threw me because that's all people say these days! My scales are playing up. I hope it's just the battery as I can't afford new ones. I have to cook for work tomorrow and Wednesday. Anyone else finding the meal planning is getting abit tedious now?

Slooow but steadyish here. 6lbs off over bootcamp (but no significant cheating / falling off wagon and not feeling deprived).

I like the tracker, but it definitely needs to be turned upside down! I need to see that graph going DOWN not up (will leave details to those more tecnically gifted). But I do also have a true fondness for the spreadsheet of fabulousness. I like seeing everyone's names on there etc.

May there be a spring in your steps this week losers!

Argh, fucked up last night.
Went on a bender with a terminally ill mate, and ended up destroying a couple of bottles of wine, a pack of biscuits, and a huge bag of popcorn.

Not weighing for a couple of days now.

And my stomach hasnt thanked me either. Literally on the toilet every hour :-(

Hey all and well done to everyone still going and especially those still losing! Grin

I think I missed out the whole of last week's thread! In my defense we're in between two "homes" now - and one is a nightmare of mess and boxes, and the other a dustsheet coated diy site. Even the scales are packed away, so I have a real reason not to weigh - honest!

Food's been a bit here and there. I have a low carb breakfast and we have a low carb dinner pretty much every night, but not everything in between has been 100%... There's been the odd shop bought sandwich in a hurry and the load of odd chocolate just for stress and comfort really. I don't dare to make guesses about my weight right now. I'll wait till things are more settled and I've been able to eat regularly for a while, and weigh then...

Have a great 9th week you lot! Thanks

Hi everyone!

I've lost 2lb this week - very happy! I'm now a stone off, inside the normal BMI range and starting to need new clothes.

I'm afraid I've just been lurking all week - I've felt really down and not cared about very much, including what I'm eating. I've been low carb but not really wanted to bother about thinking about it, IYSWIM. It's the TOTM today which might explain the funk!

Love to everyone - there was some interesting stuff on last week's thread but I didn't read it until sunday evening!

Monkey that's both the best and worst excuse for a bender ever. Sorry about your friend.

Re: the tracker - lines certainly need to go down!

Forgive me BIWI and everyone, for I have sinned again - I don't really know why either. Blush

2 small glasses of red wine and my willpower went straight out the window - I had enough left to make myself swede mash instead of potato, but had it with sausages, broccoli and peas. And then had some blueberry yoghurt (shared with DS2). And now have just had a bag of ready salted crisps and a bag (oh God!) of mini chocolate eggs. The worst bit is I was telling myself I was self-sabotaging all the while I was getting the bag from the cupboard, but it didn't stop me! Shock

I was so close to being a stone down as well! :(

Wagon tomorrow. I'll catch it and hang on for dear life.

Thumb if it's any comfort, I just had a lovely low carb lunch of courgetti with pesto and veg, and then fucked it up completely by having the last cake from last night. Hmm

Wow, some great loses this week - Trashy, you are loser of the week according to the Tracker Grin.

To those not losing or self-sabotaging - pick yourselves up and start again! It's about the trend, it's not about what you did yesterday, but what you do today at breakfast, lunch and dinner. And tomorrow. And the day after.

I had an insanely busy week last week, followed by a demented weekend of celebrations for DS, who turned 8 yo yesterday. AteLC all week, but couldn't on Friday night away - no LC option and starving. So, mindfully chomped through my first cheeseburger & wedges for ages (too hungry to just keep to the meat & cheese). Kept LC all through Saturday and yesterday tucked into one piece of birthday cake (c'mon!). Felt so bloated afterwards that I skipped dinner, kept drinking water instead.

Today I'm 1lb down only - should have been 2lbs to get me back to where I was before TOTM, no other cheats. BUT... today I am back LC'ing, and tomorrow, and the day after. The weight will move, the trend is down and water and fat are my friends.

I hope you all have a glorious week enjoying your food!
