Hi
Can anyone recommend a hotel to stay in Dubai for half term? We have left it a bit late but looking for good places to stay with our 8 and 6 year old boys.
I have heard it might be a good idea to stay near the Marina/The Walk but not sure where to stay. Good pool areas and kids club would be great.
Thanks

I love the Jumeirah Beach hotel. Have stayed there several times and the kids club is really good. Also, it is next to the Wild Wadi water park and JB guests get in free.
Stayed at Atlantis in February and VERY underwhelmed. It was more like a theme park with beds than a hotel and wouldn't go there again although I know some people who thought it was great.
We stayed at the One&Only (Palace) which is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed anywhere. Great for kids. Great beach and fab restaurants.

got back from first stay at O&O Palace on Monday, beautiful hotel, but very disappointed with service and told them so. Do agree that the beach and food is great there.Think Jumeirah group far better, but i prefer Al Qsar, Mina a salam and Dar Al Masyf to Jumeirah Beach. Go to Dubai few times a year so will try to answer questions if i can

Maybe you're already there, but if you want good ideas on where to go to eat with kids in Dubai at sensible prices, try this link, www.doindubai.com, it has lots useful info on what you can do in dubai with kids as well, hope you're having a super time in the cooler weather (ie don't need the ac on in the morning and evening now!) That's interesting Mabs - we found the service pretty good there. Tempted to try Al Qasr next time though

crowne plaza/intercontinental festival city. 7 adults 2 kids - marvellous
It would have to be very cheap to stay at the Intercon/Crowne Plaza. Festival City is boring and its a schlep to the beach. IMHO. Having spent ages fetching and delivering guests who stayed there.
Try Oasis Beach apartments, right on the Wlak in JBR, big rooms. Plenty going on if you just want to go for a walk (not possible in most of Dubai, no pavements).

Used to live in Dubai - My favourite hotel is the Madinat Jumeriah, Friday brunch there is amazing and the souk is lovely during the evening. You can't walk anywhere in Dubai. To get away from all the shopping malls its worth doing a dune bashing trip as your boys will love it - always used to use Arabian Adventures (owned by Emirates/Jumeriah Group). Great go-karting track as well at the Dubai autodrome.
