There may be lots out there, but you don't meet them at the school gate or at toddler groups.

read the blurb and would agree - if i'd known i'd be on my own with 3 kids at 40 i'd have made more of a go of me marraige.

ah well there's hope then, you've come out of your marriage having learnt something.

I was presuming that the pollstress was divorced herself. I forget that some people my age are still waiting for prince charming.

At this point I'd settle for an Earl

I took SDof3's comment to mean he'd have worked harder at his marriage if he had a second run of things....

n'est pas???

yupp. It's hilarious innit?! my sides are aching! I try to convince myself that I'm cool with being single. Maybe. ForEVER.

Tis definitely harder with children though. So you probably know better than some of the other single Dads on MN (apart from retired goth) what we're up against 'dating' jeez can't even type the word. I once became friendly flirty with a guy who I kept seeing when I had older child with me. He was probably thinking, OK she has a child, OK, hmm, OK. And then he saw me different time different place with BOTH children next day. I could see the cogs in his brain ticking around thinking ah no way lads two kids!!!

i stopped trying to convince myself i was cool with it - tho after one or two scarily close encounters with a fatal attraction type i dropped out of 'dating' altogether for years.

not recommended - was it you that mentioned baggage somewhere? well as if i didnt have enough courtesy of my ex w, a long break didnt help...not sure what i mean by that - but it didnt.

and as for having three youngsters in tow, makes it hard enough for a woman - but impossible for a bloke. and so here i am, single for a while longer
