Hi

Does anyone know what holiday companies are best to speak with about summer holiday for me and my DD where you don't have to pay for 2 adults if you know what I mean? Finding it really hard to get something!!!
Don't want to go on group singles hols or anything like that - just bogstandard package summer holiday.

Thanks

Can you not get a two person deal and just accept you have to pay adult price for dd and ask for a twin room?

I avoid the bogstandard packages, I find it much cheaper to organise it all myself.

Where are you hoping to go as it may affect the situation? In the states you pay for the room regardless of how many people are in it for example.

sometimes it cheaper to book as an adult rather than as a child because of the room supplements, I recently looked at a holdiay for £280 for an adult and £250 for a child and at the booking stage it totalled to over £800 cause of supplemts etc

I never found a way around it, always had to pay two adult prices. Makes no difference now as DD classed as an adult. It is annoying, especially as when my sister's two were little we all used to book together and get them free. No-one helped me out that way .

I'm taking my dc camping (in amobile home!) in Italy. You would have to pay for DD but they have so many offers on it's nice and cheap!! Self catering but with loads of facilities. Try:
canvas Life
Matthews holidays
Keycamp
Eurocamp
I keep getting special offer leaflets through the post. Last year we went to Duinrell in the Netherlands for 5 days in a mobile for £115!!! Included ferry but you could drop that and get cheap flights to amsterdam, train to Den Hagg then a taxi.

Canvas/Camping Life had 2 weeks in Italy (lake maggiore) for £600 in August school hols. Just need to add your flights. that's full price too before any discounts.
When , where do you want to go? At work and bored, bored, bored today so could look up some hols for you if you want!

try here:

This is near where we're going and I chose it cos you can get a bus (or taxi transfer) from the airport right up the coast road for not evry much dosh at all. Buses leave the airport every 20 mins or so. Public transport sounds so good that I'm not gonna bother hiring a car - beaches look fab and near venice. These are August prices so you'd prob get them cheaper. Usually cheaper to book direct as well.

This is where we're going - with canvas/camping Life. These are the prices to book direct with the campsite. YThey also seem to be offering discounts on these - see the sepcial offers page. www.portofelice.it/en/prices.aspx

Here: www.vacansoleil.co.uk/campinginfo.php?land=uk&RLCO=2210006&pagina=1 click on to book for prices

Here - Eurocamp - scroll down. They also have special offers on so phone them up. It flashed up with £250 off summer holidays

www.eurocamp.co.uk/index.cfm/fuseaction/PricingAvailability.validateSearchForm/amendsite/0/ver/1.cfm the site at cavallino has 6 nights in a tent (all mod cons tho with beds, fridge etc etc!!) for £364 for the 2 of you or 6 nights ina mobile at Marina di venezia for £614 ina mobile

Here's the price for Duinrell direct - this is a fab place!!! Price in euros www.duinrell.com/submenu/onlineboeken/ Again it's peak season but you might get some ideas!!
I've tried to think of places wheich would be easy wihout a car in case you don't want to drive.
