I only want to put up some bloody lights

Loads of houses have their lights up now, and mine is looking very plain and boring.

So, I struggled and got out the lights, but for some reason the lights curtain thing for the window won't fit so have had to put it on the door, looks ok, but everyone else looks like they have made so much effort, but obviously they didn't have to do it on their own.

Just pissed off that I have to struggle to do the simplest of things.

putting up lights is not the simplest of things.

No, true, as I discovered LOL.

I need something for the window though now. I took the blind down (breaking it in the process) and now it is bare.

My window lights dont fit either nutcracker. I put two nails on each side of the window frame , got some white string and pulled them wider (they kept pinging back before). I am the queen of bodgit. I dont put my outside lights up either, my friend does it for me. I am terrified of heights, only 3ft off the ground and im wobbling all over the place. It really winds me when I can't do something myself!

LOL, you sound like me scruffyteddy. I have banged a few pin things in and hey presto.

Thing is, I know we had the lights up at the window before, but how I have no idea.

They look ok at the door but not as good as they should.

Have put a lit, silver wicker star on front door too, will see how long it lasts before it gets pinched LOL.

Only thing is, I have had to plug the stuff in and then have extension cable all up the hall because I only have one socket right at the end.

I have not even dared to put lights... yesterday, while taking the christmas tree out of the attic I had DS sitting at my room, phone in hand, with the instruction to ring 999 if I fell to the ground!

He found it widely amusing, thankfully!

LOL

I don't put mine in the loft because I know I couldn't manage it. I have to put it in the cupboard in ds's room and it is hard enough to get out of there.

I am the opposite! I have lots of lights up indoors and some out! Outdoor Fibre optic tree isn't working though but i will probably just buy some cheap out door lights and wrap them round it!
DS1 and DS2 helped get it all out of the loft. I passed them bits and they put them on the floor for me.

i love putting up the decorations. Need to do the ones round the window but run out of plug sockets/extension leads.

Yeah i need some more sockets and leads.

I do have a little tree that the kids normally decorate for upstairs, but there isn't really room, so might pinch that and do something to it for the window.

Doesn't help that I live next door to santas grotto, makes my house look sooooooo boring.

I am the only one along my road with lights! next door will probably manage some icicle lights round the gutter in a week or two.
I have a set of those but i can't put them up because

  1. No ladder
  2. Too high!

Extensions are much cheaper from Wickes. Ive got the window lights to put up, the outside icicles (go just underneath the erm... whatever that filthy nasty stuff you have to keep painting is called), four stars on sticks in the garden and a moving rudolph.

all clear and very tasteful mind

Ive been waiting on the tree...it looks great when it first goes up but two weeks later when the cats have pulled all the baubles off the lower branches and we've thrown them back on anywhere I get this incredible urge to rip the lot down.

eee I hate flutters. May just do the fireplace and the door thing if I can find them.

Oh, where can I get those tree lights with a hoop at the top to drape down the tree rather than winding them around? Does anyone know?
