basically dd is now 12months old, and have recently gone back to work after being on unpaid maternity leave so have been on income support. the csa then chased me to give details on dd dad which i obliged. 2 months ago i get a csa letter to inform me that they have found him and will be taking £62 a week from his pay and pay it directly to me. my ex phones me and says that they have taken more than that in arrears apparentrly but here i am 2 months later and still no money!! how long does it take the csa to process money from ex's employers? i am very confused by whole process

you should have the money no longer than a couple of weeks later than your ex paying, if you havnt had any money then give the csa a call as there could be a problem with them taking the money off him, if he doesnt pay willingly they can get a deduction order on his wages.

thats quite common, my friend used to get hers around the 2 to 3 weeks after period and then a week later the next lot would be due, they used to pay it when they felt like it.

thanks guys, i phoned csa today and they said not had anything from his employer yet, but what they do is the employer has a month to collect the money and sent it to the csa and the cutoff is today! so csa have told me to ring later in week to check on progress...so annoying all this waiting, he is getting it deducted from his wages as far as i am aware

I'm on the other side of this. DP has paid 2 months of payments to CSA (not throught his wages though) and they told his ex that he hadn't paid anything. It's very frustrating and is causing huge problems between him and his ex. CSA have now agreed that he has paid it and have promised that she will receive both amounts within a week. What you need to bare in mind is that the CSA will lie to you if they have mucked up somehow. Do you have a good enough relationship with your ex to ask him to try to chase this up too? He may have the proof that it has been paid, (if he has actually paid it!)and then those bastards at the CSA really can't hold onto it any longer.
