I have just been away for a week with the kids on my own for the first time (usually go with my Mam ) and I am knackered!
Seems so much harder watching the kids away from home and going out anywhere ,just going to the public toilets as 3 don't really fit in one cubicle!
Just wondered what everyone else does?

I'm not a lone parent but I admire you for taking them away at all! No wonder you're knackered, at least you've done it now! Well done.

dont go for a week and dont plan to do anything!

im not a lone parent anymore, but i sometimes take my kids away for a few days without dh and i find the novelty of being away from home is enough to keep them happy. we tend to go to haven type stuff and just stay on the site most of the time or go to the beach (not at this time of year admittedly), buy a few things from the pound shop to keep them amused, get lots of books from library before we go, buy those packets of biscuit mix etc. we might go to the zoo or something but i find if you are there for three days they dont get bored, a week is too long for me. my 3 are 7, 6 and 2 so would depend on age of yours of course!

We were on a Haven site!
Kids don't want to go to the entertainment they want to go to bed early so I just sat and read(which was quite nice!)
Don't know what they put in the pool but my throat burned for days after going swimming(which is very hard as dd1 wants to swim lengths and dd2 tries to go too!)
And it was too wet for the park!
I find those sort of things harder work to watch the kids rather than if we are looking round somewhere and I know where they are IYSWIM.
Think it was the driving that did me too, 620 miles in 5 days and I'm out of practice as I only got my car 3 weeks ago after 5 years without(shared my Mams so not completly rusty)

Nikkie, hyjacking your thread!

Have been wondering how you got on with your (??) man when you went back to school after the summer?

Sorry if you have already updated and I missed it!
