my last mediator (chosen by ex) was £275 per hour pus vat. I do believe that relate do mediation and that some mediators have reduced rates depending on income.

I used the local family mediation service which is a charity that for matters relating to children £50 for each parent initial consultation and then £100 per hour for each parent bill separately for main mediation.

Yeah I looked into our local family mediator and they wanted £200 per person which as I don't think my ex will pay would I be able to afford.I tried relate and they just gave me the number for the local mediation service.

Have spoken to ex and he will go but has thrown loads of obstacles in the way so getting an appointment will be hard.He also refuses to pay towards it and is going on about if I was an adult we could talk without a mediator. However I refuse to as he gets very funny and beside as I told him going through a mediator is being an adult.

make sure you are very focussed on what you must achieve and what you will negotiate on.
