This easter I will be alone with dd who's 9 months. Any suggestions to cheat it up? Ideas for a roast something for one? And eastery treats etc for little feet?

Hi. I am rubbish at advise regarding roasts for one being a veggie (unless you like veggie food?) Hows your little one at eating? is there anything going on locally like an easter hunt or roll? have you anyone you could call in for a visit? its crap being on your own in the hollidays I know. h moved out 6 weeks ago so I can understand how you feel although my dc are a little older at 5 and 2 years

Have it days late and buy cheap Easter eggs? That's what I'm doing because my kids aren't even here over Easter. I will be mostly ignoring it.

I wouldn't buy a baby chocolate, but maybe a big fluffy toy chick. A for a roast for one? Maybe a small chicken, the leftovers I'd use for chicken and mayo sandwiches later.

My ds is 2 now so slightly different, but I am throwing myself into the Easter spirit despite being on my tod - fake it till you make it is my new motto (because drowning myself in wine wasn't working apparently Grin)

I'm buying lovely Easter food from m&s, so it's all in a tin shove it in the oven jobbies, we are going to a local national trust place for a wander and an Easter egg hunt after church, and I'm going to watch crap tv and eat chocolate till the cows come home.

Holidays are hard aren't they? At least this one has a chocolatey theme!

There's a few events on here. Are they ok to take babies? They do seem for he older kiddies! M&S roaSt sounds rather yum! Dd is just weaning isn't keen on a spoon but likes anything she can take herself. Haven't got er choccies but I bought the tomy egg box thing (if anyone knows what I'm talking about!)

my little one has the tomy egg box thing! he loves it- fab easter present. even though the easter events may seem for older kids I think they would still be fun to take your dd to and beats being stuck in for the whole time

Could you do some painting/ art activities. I'm bravely getting out the paint with my dd who's almost 9 months, to make Easter cards for family.

mines older than yours OP.

good Friday was Jesus day, (morning till late afternoon), we watched dvd of Jesus Christ Superstar (a yearly good Friday tradition), the original film of course, then an Easter cartoon, and King of Kings was showing on BBC2 so we saw that too.

after allthat remembering we then watched the Doctor Who fest on the horror channel with the popcorn!

today we went for a morning stroll then came back and made easter cookies and settled for the next lot of Dr Who things! still at it!

tomorrow we go to church then to granparents for lunch and the afternoon.

then child can have easter egg later when we get back.

We'e having a hunt on 27th for her friends. That way I can get the cheaper eggs. A couple of other mum's are bringing nibbles and I'll get some wine in. It will be chaos (7 kids minimum) and I will be tidying up all of the day after, but it's nice to have an excuse to be sociable! I have a big box of Easter things that I can decorate with and add to it every year. This year I have those palm pet chicks for the kids as their special take away treat and I can't wait for DD to try it!
I personally like to make these little parties into traditions (have a Halloween box, Birthday and Christmas one too) as I think it helps break up the year and means you gather decorations bit by bit and decorating with a 2yo can be really fun! I also know I have done my bit for hosting friends and been social at least 4 times in a year!
