Thank you. He is picking them up in the morning, we've tried to be normal as poss chatting on the phone as we do when he works away etc. ds is 5 dd 3. Its not too weird as I usually do most of the parenting anyway. Ds is very astute and I feel he knows what is going on even though I'm not unhappy, we had a treat this evening dvds etc maybe he just missed daddy being a part of it. Lots of cuddles and telling him daddy will be here tomorrow etc. I really want to stay strong and have the willpower as were going to be happier in the long run.

These first days and weeks are so hard. How old are your kids ?
When he is seeing them again ? The most important things at this stage are loads of hugs and acknowledgement of their feelings. 'I know you miss daddy and I know you love him very much. It's Friday today and daddy is coming to pick you up on Sunday. Do you want to make him a card etc etc'
I would suggest that he takes the kids out for the day - it's probably hard for them to have him staying overnight at home so soon.

It's only been a week since we split, Dcs haven't really noticed daddy being away much, we have said he's at work for now, as he often works away.

He picked them up from school yesterday and stayed over in ds's room. So the kids have seen him and we are friendly infront of them. But tonight our son has sobbed for Daddy sad what do I do? Will this affect him? Should I put aside my own feelings and try to work things out? I can't stand making them unhappy
