than look after someone else's kids?

does anyone else find this?

my neighbour's children are always around here. i dont know why she chooses me im sure but even when she can clearly see im trying to do something (mow the lawn for example) she will palm me off with her youngest.

im thinking that maybe she sees, im single so have no partner to tell me i cant look after other kids, nothing better to do, whatever. she never asks any of the other neighbours who have a partner. erm...i have enough trying to watch my own toddler while i take care of the house and garden!

not a rant at all, just curious as to whether other people get this?

OMG! Does she know you well?? I wouldn't palm my kids off on a neighbour at all. I am single, and would have a friends child/children if in need but not all the time. HOw often does she do this? Think you have a right to rant.

oh no really, its not a rant. i was just curious as to why it is she always asks me, hence the "im single and have bugger all better to do" line. its no problem, i can say no Grin

Hmmm - I don't get that at all from neighbors or parents of dd's friends. Maybe you are the mummy who's the most fun? Or maybe she senses you're kind, and she can take advantage of you?

maybe she thinks you are the most capable, responsible and reliable person she knows and only asks you because she trusts you implicitly with her child. ??
