mine took less than a year i think - but there were no kids involved and no house (or money) to split

I think the quickest is 3-4 months

mine was 3 months to get decree nisi, 2 months after I received the absolute
both agreed
was 10yrs ago, dont know if the system has changed.

have checked and mine was 5 months but think it was delayed a little as xp was being stroppy over whether he had to name his bit on the side or not !!

there is a compulsory 6 weeks between the nisi and th absolute otherwise it depends on the solicitors/parties concerned how quickly they process the documents and you can speed it up if the solicitor transfers papers rather than waiting for the court

is there a reason you want it to be quick?

aaa doormat here
I went straight to maiden name the day i filed for divorce.
didnt have to fill anything in, just notify bank, bills etc of my intentions and they were all fine.

My Mum is technically still married to my father, despite the fact that they've been separated for 20 years ! She reverted to her maiden name straight away, too. No legal papers needed.

I just went in and told them I was getting divorced blah blah and said I had reverted back to maiden name
they did it there and then
but as I said this was 10yrs ago, things might have changed since
but still worth a try
good luck babe
