Are there any left?
Missed out on seeing Olympic park but would really like to take dc.
Errr go on the website and see! If someone says yes they are likely to be gone in two minutes!
Lots of availability for first week of Sept if you aren't stuck with school. Nothing before that though, but I'm sure they will release tickets during the event as they have during the Olympics. Have a look here.
Just checked and there doesn't seem to be anything. Hopefully that will change in the next couple of weeks.
There are wheelchair basketball tickets available right now, but kids will be back at school then..
There must be more tickets to come up. There are 500,000 left and there is no way they have all been put up today. I imagine they will drip feed them in and there will no doubt be more available once they have looked at venue space/seating.
I am desperately trying to get some, they are being dripped in and I am checking around 8 times a day, people are basically racing to get tickets - as soon as they become available they go again
frustrating, but brilliant to see how popular they are
Problem with lots of them is that they are after the schools go back. Checked a few times but nothing available apart for £300-500 tickets for opening/closing ceremonies. DD was interested in going to the Olympic Park but just not going to be possible.
Swimming tickets available but on 4th when schools are back.
yeah - the only dates we can get there are 1-3rd (DD isn't back until 4th)
so fighting a losing battle really but still checking!
Only the opening and closing ceremonies have available tickets that you can actually buy. Cheapest is £250 a pop for the closing ceremony. The other tickets that look as if they are avaialable actually aren't! Try buying them and you'll see what I mean!!
Been trying all day to get tickets with no luck :-(
Ditto !
Another batch just released! Got swimming and athletics
Paralympic tickets on sale now!
OMG !!! got tickets for Olympic Stadium day before kids go back to school !
Yay!!! I just got some too - at last!
Patience is a virtue eh 80'sMum
Waiting for cycling. Thanks for telling us
Am too limited as only one day I want really due to school and can't get til mid morning and can't leave to late
Bugger ..trying a different set now
Thanks for the headsup fruitcorner, just got athletics for Sun 2nd Sept.
I've put three sessions on my shopping list. AM and Evening Athletics and AM Wheelchair Basketball all for the same day. I really want Athletics, so ideally I would love AM Wheelchair Basketball and Evening Athletics, but if the evening athletics isn't available I would prefer AM Athletics. I hope that if I'm lucky enough to get some after I've waited an hour 15 minutes that I can remove the ones I don't need. Now says 2 mins to go so only another 20 minutes until I know
Damn......I got both the athletics ones and I couldn't see any way to remove one lot
so I've let them all go and now trying again . . . . . . grrrr.
Against all the odds I have managed to get some athletics tickets for Sunday 2nd. I have no idea what for!
failed
didn't manage to get any
ggirl was that track cycling. I have been trying for about 2-3 weeks to get them (any session). We are very lucky to have already got athletics, swimming and road cycling but really want the velodrome ones, The few that come up go immediately
I signed up to twitter to follow 2012ticketalert which sends tweet when new tickets on sale
Didn't manage to get anything at all for the Friday in the Olympic Park - tried for all evens within the park, but all not available once it went to the checking bit.
balls I missed this one! However I will now follow that twitter account and hope to get some soon!
That's how I got my tickets - following the twitter alert - at about 3.30 this after noon they started coming through thick and fast - so make sure you have a ticket account ready and are logged in and have your Visa card at the ready.
Some £50 opening ceremony ones listed at the moment. Probably all gone by the time I've finished typing this! Shame I'm not free that day.
got my ticketing account already and know my card details by heart
Will keep the lappy logged on to twitter when I am home tomorrow
WooHoo Just got closing ceremony for £50 each (well DS did, I'm much too slow)
Well done Quite's DS!
Bugger, sounds like I missed them, and now the sites broke!
I managed to get tickets for athletics earlier and received the confirmation email. I chose print at home option but I still haven't received the actual tickets. When I bought Olympic tickets last week, I received the tickets within an hour of purchase. Has anyone else received their tickets having chosen print at home option? I seem to remember seeing something last week that said you should contact them if not received in 24h but I can't see that anywhere and not sure who to contact. Any suggestions anyone?
Oh
Missed this.
<greedy emoticom>
The Twitter alert sounds good.
Saker I got athletics tickets this afternoon. The email with the tickets to print out arrived about three hours later.
Does anyone know if Paralympics tickets include a travelcard?
therein Yes. They do.
There definitely wasn't a travelcard with the print at home tickets
There was the same problem with the print at home Olympic tickets: they are definitely part of the package however.
Jenny, you can't remove tickets once you have requested and been successful. you have to decide before you submit your request.
The only thing you could do is buy all of them and immediately put the unwanted ones back for resale. I think you'd have no problem reselling given demand! Or you have to request only what you want to buy.
I think on one of the Olympics threads someone explained how to get a travelcard printed if you had print at home tickets. Try advanced search!
Mmm doesn't sound promising, I have found a number so will ring in morning.
Does anyone know if I can change the delivery method for my tickets? I chose to pick them up at the park because I panicked during the ordering process and didn't remember the they included a travel card.
You do get a travel card if you print at home but you pay to get to venue then pick up the travel card at ticket pickup point when you get there - to get you home !
Tuna I think it was possible to get a travelcard printed if you took your tickets to a station.
If you go to here you can order tickets to print at your local station. If you are within the games travelcard area they are free, if outside you pay a discounted fare to get to the travelcard area.
Have had a look but can't see where you order tickets to print at local train station - tried the phone number but after various options got disconnected.
Will have another go .
I've just registered with National Rail 2012 Games Travel Tickets - might just pop down to my local station and ask the kind station master .
Need to rush out now but thanks for the help.
You enter in depature/destination. Choose ticket - single or return. When you go to pay you have the option of printing at local station. I've used it twice. All you do at the local station ticket machine is press the prepaid collection option, insert the card you paid with (you need to put card details in even if it is £zero) and the tickets print out. Really simple system.
bisjolympics - doesn't seem to work if the journey is entirely by tube
Not that simple given it can't find a fare from my local train station to Stratford.
It does work for tube. I just entered Bond St to Stratford and it gave me a price of £0.
Soup which station are you travelling from.
Sorry, just tried the tube one and it wouldn't complete. However when I tried from West Drayton (which is western outer edge it would and was free). I assume the tube station would be able to issue a free ticket if you can't get it on the rail site, or maybe you can buy tickets from the tfl website?
weird it didn't work for Epping to Stratford
I'd call the London 2012 phone number here
Right just done it - our departing station is just outside the Games travel area -
so 'Departing Station' to Stratford (Games) return - for one adult and two children is the Grand Total of £7.60 !
Will collect the tickets later .
Thank you bisjolmypics !
A lot of Olympic tickets come with a free Travelcard - I went to the closing ceremony and we have a family set of Olympic Park tickets for the 1st September. Transport was free for both (and the Javelin is very swish). And there's no ticket checking at either St Pancras or Stratford.
Trying to get Orbit tickets for the 1st but I suspect they're all gone. Not too fussed about a sport as the DTs are only 5 and don't have the attention span - we lasted about an hour in a Synchronised Swimming thing in April during the "London Prepares" series. But I do fancy a look at the park.
These do come with a free travelcard but because we opted for the print at home event ticket option we had to go round the houses to get our free travel card.
But because we live just out of the Games Travel Card Area we had to pay the differnce .
Still got the train fair at a very discounted rate for peak time travel into London.
The two times I've been to the Park the only time I had my travelcard checked was on leaving my local station. There are simply too many people arriving/leaving Stratford to have the ticket barriers in use there.
A whole batch have just gone on sale. The Olympic Park ones have sold out in minutes. There are still some coming up for the London venues i.e. Excel
Jesus fucking Christ. I leave the website for one second...
I was racing for those tickets and didn't get bloody one
Tell you what, I will alert you all when I stop trying and actually get on with my life, and THAT is when the tickets will drop. Honest. Bollocks to the Twitter feed - I can predict when they will be on.
London venues Sold bloomin out!
They will be releasing 100,000 tickets during the course of the games and of course there may be corporate returns, although probably not as many as there were for the Olympics.
I was on there the minute the twitter alerts went, not a sodding thing. I think there was hardly anything there to be honest.
I'm really pleased forthose of you that have managed to get tickets, and best wishes to those still trying.
Sorry, we got ours back in October last year!
Really glad that the mass public have cottoned on to how brilliant the Paralympics are! Proud that London will be hosting the first sell-out Paralympics.
Gah! I can't believe they started releasing them at 6-7pm. Have they no thought for those of us who are getting kids to bed and won't get back on MN or a
the internet till later? No consideration. [huffy emoticon]
So there will be some more to come? [hopeful] Although the later they come out, the less likely I can go as travel will become more expensive and taking leave more difficult. Gah.
They did the same with the Olympics. No use for those of us who work and are commuting home at that time. I was very lucky to bag some tickets on a Saturday at 6.30pm.
Got ours in July. Had the pick of tickets then and got all the 100m finals - cant wait.
Lucky you debivamp!
bis - I'd rather they released them mid afternoon. Would at least give those of us at work but secretly surfing a chance.
Got ours back in October too... Equestrian, swimming and athletics...
Can't wait!
Right, going out for the day, so expect several releases of tickets in the next eight hours....
I am being greedy - we did get Olympics tickets but not for the park. And I had Paralympic football tickets in my basket a month ago then DH suggested it would be too difficult to get there and back with school the next day ( we are in the north). But I want to gooooooo!
Silly tickets they wait until I get on with life or even put kids to bed then release, although on the odd occasion something is showing up there is never anything available.
It's ruining the whole summer for me all this chasing around and staring at the computer.
I have signed up for twitter but can't see how it works, does the message come up automatically once it is twitted or do you have to keep refreshing that too does anyone know?
I really want some tickets for the dcs but it isn't happening.....!
Remember that the Twitter feed you need to follow is @2012TicketAlert2. That is the one that's used whenever a very large batch of tickets is put on sale. As there are so many being released at once, you stand a fighting chance of getting some.
The other feed sends tweets whenever any tickets are released, so it could be just one or two being sold back and they'll be snapped up even before you've clicked on the link!
I found it easier to follow the twitter feed on the computer rather than may phone .
It just shows that there are new tweet so click on that and tweets are shown .
As I was working from home found it easy to have a tab for work , tab for twitter, tab for ticket site and tab for MN !
I followed both ticket alert twitter accounts and the day that I got my tickets and (I think 80smum too) the new tickets alerts came thick and fast at around 3.30pm .
I got tickets for the paralympics during the rush for Olympic ones, there were pick and choose during the olympics.
If you can get tickets, take the children out of school for the day for god's sake. This is a once in a life time experience, they will see fantastically inspirational athletes and the impact of that will live with them much longer than just another school day. Any head who won't authorise an absence for this is an arse. And just take them unauthorised if not. The sky will not fall on their heads.
We went to the Olympics and the atmosphere and goodwill was magical. My children had a huge lesson in international relations (4 year old made friends with Japanese and Spanish kids and 7 year old ran races with American and Swedish kids) plus the sport itself, the architecture, the number of people involved, the setting....anyone not taking up tickets available to them because of school is forgetting the point of education in the first place. A school building is not the only place to find it.
Just wanted to say-Dont Give Up
I tried for days for olympic tickets and it is pure luck that you are on your computer the second they go on sale. But I did manage to get tickets for diving and Hockey on different days. It cost me a fortune but I decided we will spend less at Christmas this year to even things out--a bit--.
As issynoko it is a once in a lifetime event and the experience is so fantastic.
It's abit of a dilemma with taking kids out of school that first week back - my eldest starts secondary school on the 5th so really didn't want to take him out that week. If he has still been at Juniors then I wouldn't have hesitated and I am sure that the Head would have been OK about it.
Luckily I got tickers the day before they go back plus we live just outside London.
We got ours ages ago but then like other relised that one set of my tickets fell on the first dy back rung up no hassle got tickets for swimming on the 4th also althlets whoop whoop i cant wait
Also i just love the MEET THE SUPER HUMANS advert think it sums up perfectly
Got all my team gb stuff half price in sansburys they are selling packs of four flags for £1.50
My only regret is i didnt book for The veladrome as well
Oh btw the opening cermoney is being done by the producer of BILLY ELLIOT so should be really good
Thanks tuna so you have to keep refreshing then.......
When do I put then kids to bed or tidy up ot cook tea or anything else for that matter........!!
Anyway am I right in thinking that there has been no release of tickets today?
I haven't spotted any, just tickets for the opening and closing if have a spare £300-400 each...
They've had loads on this morning but not managed to get any. We are desperate for athletic ones so we can see the stadium.
Apparently they are releasing 200,000 tickets and possibly more once they have the logistics sorted out. They will be on sale right up to and through the games according to my DM though I suspect she may have read that in the DMail
DS is hysterical about getting tickets to the velodrome but sadly I cannot see it happening
Yes, coming thick and fast this morning. Keep an eye on Twitter. There are athletics ones coming up and I intially got some saying available but then they'd gone. Am thinking now it will be too expensive and difficult to do but looking anyway...
I got athletics ones last week not that expensive £30 each for me and DH £5 each for the DC's.
What's boccia? <ignorant>
Again, I was on the site as soon as the alerts came through and not a ticket to be had (by me anyway). It's so frustrating
Boccia is like boules, and is played by mixed teams of people with CP. Its v strategic as sometimes they are trying to smash other peoples balls out, sometimes placing their own.
The channel 4 paralympics webiste has info on all the sports and our athletes
ARRRRGH! I thought we had athletics tickets, but have just discovered that due to a miscommunication between me and a friend it turns out she didn't book them for me, only for herself and her DD. Oh bloody HELL, DS is going to be devastated. I'm just going to spend the next week on the website. How do you get notifications when new tix come out?
A few tickets on there now for Excel and Olympic park day passes and orbit.
The day passes aren't actually there though. Very annoying.
I have been trying on the hour every hour and not managed to get many. Ticket touts starting to feel tempting.
Can I recommend this link?:
http://tickets.prominenthosting.com/
It is updated every 5 mins, and is a much easier way to check if a bulk load have been released. I know that chances are the tickets will have gone by the time you get on the actual website, but it does save a lot of time! I found it better than following the twitter links.
Keep trying though everyone! I spent the first four days of the olympics desperately trying to get tickets and eventually managed to get para football ones. Admittedly though at the time there were lots of para ones available as everyone was after the standard olympic ones.
They have got tickets now for the opening and closing ceremonies, neither of them are when the children are back at school
But only if you have a spare £300 per ticket!
Use Ben Marsh's Ticket Checker. Find him on Twitter then follow the link from his profile. You'll need t know the codes for the sessions you want (can be found on Olypic site). One of my friends got Olympic tix this way and I got Para ones last week.
Grrrrrrrrrr says there were some phone line disconnected me after minutes of listening to rubbish messages and the website now won't even request tickets for me
Of course they are now all gone
Hate them all!
<bangs head on table>
Fall asleep for ten minutes and they all go on sale. Requesting everything. No do's.
(sniff)
Ggggggrrrrrr.
Got some after putting the same request through for about 10 minutes. It's really not a transparent system though is it! I think the twitter alerts have been the only way I got them this time, they just go too damn quick.
Now my IP address is banned from Ticketmaster for too many ticket requests and not purchasing them. I think it lasts 24 hours. Grrr.
I keep getting forbidden if I try to access the Olympic ticket website and googled it, it said to much ticket requesting from different browsers, we are using 2 browsers here, I was also using twitter and ticketchecker.
Oh that sounds good TSG

You're lucky skiing (maybe I need a sporty nickname lol)
I tried around 5 for ages well over half an hour only requesting one lot at a time even cut the numbers from 3 to 2 and not a thing
Tickets on sale now (London Venues)
Quite a few by the looks of it - Good luck !
Olympic Park tickets on sale now.
Success! Yes.
Forgotton what days I've bought for now
Yay, just got some thanks to the Twitter alert - pure chance that I happened to be on there when I was supposed to be working. Got Wheelchair Basketball and Olympic Park, DD is beyond excited and I'm really pleased
<SIGH>
Not sure my heart will stand much more of this
I HAD tickets for the cycling, equestrian and athletics in my basket (for the first time ever I should add!!) but never got them when I requested them
I did splash out £6 on Olympic Park tickets for DS and I so that, if all else fails, then he will at least get to see the park.
We've just got Athletic tickets. Very excited as we'll get to see the stadium. Cheap £10 seats though so god knows how far back we'll be.
Can now concentrating on getting tickets for the in laws.
Athletic Tickets!!? How?!
<faints>
Just got Olympic park tickets for our family to have a nosey around.
My family are not that that keen on seeing any events apart from athletics or cycling which were all gone. So I bought a single wheelchair basketball ticket for me when they are back at school. Sod 'em, I'll go on my own and have a fab time
I have no idea how I got them! Just luck!
But I am following the twitter feeds so logged on as soon as I started getting text message alerts from 2012 TicketAlert. Which was about 10 minutes after they were released because I was at the corner shop!! So I'm very very lucky, and happy!
Also got park tickets as emergency back up for the in laws.
After days of trying we managed to get athletic ticket this afternoon too. My dh just happened to check on twitter the second they announced a release. Can't believe our luck!
I have spent hours at the computer, trying to get tickets. Finally got some for athletics but only by using 2012ticketchecker.com/
It alerts you (and gives direct links) way before the tickets actually appear on the ticketmaster site. It also gives sound alerts (I can do house chores but then as soon as the alarm sounds I drop everything and turn into manic woman at the computer).
Other tips include signing in and keeping your basket active using Check4change. That way when you do get tickets you don't need to mess aroung with emails and passwords (and those horrible security words!)
I am so relieved to have finally got some. Good luck to others in their quest for tickets.
Great tips VeryHappy
Fucking hell! Got some!
Went for Olympic Park only but soooooo pleased. Only the 9999th attempt - was pure luck, checked and booked immediately.
And my train tickets were only £60 too - bargain.

Well done. Just thought I had some then got to the shopping basket stage and they were all gone. I've been trying so hard, it just doesn't seem to be happening....
I'll keep the ticket checker link up for the next few days - maybe it'll help!
Do the tickets seem to get released around 5pm every day?
The tickets get released either morning afternoon or evening. One big batch a day. Today's was around 4pm. Yesterday was around 4pm. Monday was around 11am. Tomorrow - who knows?!
Does anyone know how to get a games travelcard when you've got print at home tickets? We live in London.
I picked up 6 tickets for a fiver each today when thousands went on sale just before 6pm. We can get into the park only but that is completely fine.
I've just found the answer to my question on the website. I can only pick up the travelcards from the venue box office on the day. GRRRRR.
GGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRR I missed them
Arrrrrrrrrgh
Ohhhn I'm going to bang my head against a brick wall now!
Right, after all this bloody effort, I have finally got 5 tickets for the same day so that the grandparents can come with us to the Olympic park.
So what does MIL say, "oooooh, I quite fancy that Orbit thing, can you get tickets for that too?"
Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrgh! She has no flaming idea how difficult it is!
Heh heh
That's funny Skiing
Peppermint look further down the thread for info on travel cards - starts Fri 17th 8.26.57
Got mine printed off at local station - you need to go here
National Rail Games Travel
I've registered on the rail website, and put the tickets in my basket, but can't get it to do anything else. It keeps saying Use Games Travelcard for my journey (which I don't have!) and also this error message comes up: There are no delivery options available for the combination of tickets selected. Please purchase a ticket from the station.
I have read further down the thread but no one who actually lives in London has said they have managed to get theirs printed off at the station. So if anyone has please let me know!
Our two Oyster journeys there will still be cheaper than the £6 postage, but I was hoping not to have to queue up at the box office to get our travelcards home.
I had trouble initially and kept getting the same message but kept trying and did it eventually
. We live in Surrey just outside the Games Card Travel.
You could always go to your local station and speak to them there about it .
Peppermint, I live in West Sussex and I have bought train tickets online (otherwise I'd need to pay peak fares for first thing on Mon 3). That will get us as far as London Bridge so I guess we will then need to buy single tube tickets for me and dh to Stratford. DD1 (5) and DD2 (3) are free on the tube. I then think I will show my print-at-home ticket to the box office (which weren't so busy inside the park when we were at the Olympics, but bad at the gate) and collect travel cards for the way home. I bought the tickets in such a flurry yesterday (having tried for days and eventually striking lucky after an alert from the 2012TicketChecker) that I just ticked print-at-home without thinking that it meant no travel cards. There might have been time to have them posted. I am going to try to collect my tickets from the station early next week and will let you know how it works.
Games Train Tickets that is via their website.
I now know my way round the 2012 website more intimately than my own DH's body
And still no effing cyling tickets
All I can say is its a good job DS is at my DM's, if he was here I fear the stress and excitement may boil over into actual family violence
Thanks so much for that website info VeryHappy - have just got some athletics tickets!! Thrilled doesn't cover it!
DELIGHTED to have got wheelchair basketball tickets for 1st Sept for all the family - the only catch is we have to collect them from a box office. Does anyone know where the Hyde Park Ticket collection box office is/is going to be (apparently it opens this weekend) as would like to pick them up in advance of the games starting?
Hi Peppermint, just collected our games train tickets from the station and it was easy from the self-service machine and for the family of four to travel is the same as one peak adult return so very good value. We are still without a travel card though and have resigned ourselves to getting singles from London Bridge to Stratford (which are going to be more (£4.30 each adult) than the £6 would have been for postage grrr!) and then collect travel cards at a box office in the park for the return journey.
TSG, no is a complete sentence.
Just tried agaain and failed
I don't understand how I can keep failing I only want 3
I try and try and try and you all seem to get some and I just keep going [sob]
I've just got some velodrome tickets for the in laws.
That's me done. I'm unsubscribing to the twitter feed now.
I might brave calling the helpline on Tuesday to see if they can post some travel cards to me...
Aaaargghh peppermintcreams- just aaarrrrggghhhh!!!
Travelling back from parents in Suffolk today and as my iPhone is in to be fixed, I dispatched DM to scour the site like a hawk until we get home. She is new to all this internet mularkey but seemed to be coping quite well until the tickets popped up and the laptop died in quick succession though anybody else on a life and death mission would make sure it was plugged in!
So anyway, DS and I have decided that, as our days are limited due to Cub Camp, school etc, we would bite the bullet and take tickets to the equestrian on Thursday morning. We also have Olympic Park tickets so at least we get a day up there and DS can take a million few photos
Perhaps I will still check if there are any for the velodrome though............
I GOT SOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sorry for shouting but so excited! Been trying for like a month every day- 4-5 times a day (until I discovered the twitter feed last week)
today I have managed to get tickets for all 4 of us to two seperate events! So we are going to powerlifting finals on sat 1st and rowing on sunday 2nd
wahoo!
I got some today too!!! Got some Olympic tickets previously for diving but only managed to get 2 so took DS2 who is passionate about it and is in a diving club. DS1 was devastated that "you chose DS2 over me" but said all would be OK if I could get him Paralympic track cycling in the velodrome.
No problem I said thinking it should be possible if I had managed after a few days of trying for the Olympic tickets, but I have been trying every bleeding day for a fortnight, even while we have been on holiday abroad and no joy. I used the ticket checker alerts and the twitter feeds and was online and logged in the minute they dumped the tickets, had 4 sessions in my basket and they were showing as available, no joy whatsoever. Was convinced there wouldn't be any today since none were put on yesterday or last Sunday I think, don't know if other people thought there would be none over the Bank Holiday weekend and that is why I succeeded today?
I feel like I am addicted to trying now, my day is based around whether they have loaded the tickets or not, will just try for one more lot of swimming tickets this time but really anything else is a bonus now, I feel very very lucky.
Cluttered I got Track Cycling also - been trying for last 3 weeks to get any Velodrome. Couldn't believe it. I had been going on so much also using ticket checker and twitter feeds, so much so that Ticketmaster barred me for 24 hrs last week, I was forbidden from their server! I think for doing too much refreshing. So pleased as I had practically given up. As an added bonus I got £50 opening ceremony at the same time also.
Does everyone one with a twitter account know that you can have certain tweets (like from @2012TicketAlert) sent to your phone as a text message?
There is a minute or two delay, but it's better than nothing when I'm away from the laptop, and I can rush back. I have to switch the phone onto silent once the messages start coming through otherwise the phone goes a bit crazy.
If you click on their profile, then click on the grey person icon next to the blue follow me box it should give you the option to turn on mobile notifications.
Peppermintcreams Thanks for that, I didn't know you could get phone alerts. Very handy for when the laptop goes to sleep, Though I have probably got more than my share of tickets now.
Well done for getting tickets.
How many days to go? Oh, yes, three!
Some excel tickets available now all sorts of stuff
Lots of tickets available. A strange time to make them all available (post midnight) Lots of Finals tickets as well.
Lots of finals tickets available right now! (bumping for the late lunch crowd)
Opening ceremony tickets now up for £20.12
Sorely tempted but need to be back in Greenwich at 9am on Thursday- great restraint on my part I think
If anyone is still looking, I have Paralympics tickets to sell that I can't use. In our excitement, we bought the first tickets we could actually get and found out later that we can't actually go on that day! They are for Thursday 31st Aug, 9am-1pm, Men's Goalball, Olympic Park, 2 adults, 2 children, £40. Frustratingly, we can't re-sell them through the official website because it's less than 7 days to the event, but I can't bear to think of them going to waste. If anyone is interested, let me know!
Whoops, meant Thursday 30th August. It's been a long day!
Velodrome tickets for Saturday and Sunday up now- DS will be at Cub camp and would never forgive Dh and I if we went without him

I just saw the velodrome tickets and went to buy them but nope - nothing available!
I must have the golden touch! We got athletic and show jumping tickets for the olympics, I have got cat c tickets for both opening and closing of the paras and we are there on the 48th as managed to get Orbit tickets too. Looking at this I realise I am very lucky!
Thank you GeorgeEliot for starting this helpful thread and thank you bisjolympics for putting the link in to www.tickets.london2012.com/browse?tab=para
I have gone in a few times and checked to see what is available and was really delighted tonight to check and find tickets for quite a few things and to finally persuade DH that we really could not miss this and to get tickets for one event! Thanks so much.
I have got Athletics tickets for Saturday! We were already going just with park passes - now we are going into the stadium.
I think I might have weed a little when DH told me...
I just got Athletics tix too, for Sunday AT LONG LAST. Lots of running finals & kids were only £5, woohoo! There were lots & lots of different ones available this time - I managed to get lots in my actual basket after weeks & weeks of screaming in frustration at that website
I got athletics for 6 September, an evening session. So pleased!
I got tickets today and opted to print at home. That worked fine for the Olympics as the tickets were emailed to me within half an hour. But this time I'm still waiting fir the elusive email with attachment after 3 hours!
Still no cycling tickets but DS and I are giddy with excitement anyway (despite the 3.30AM start
)
I have not given up hope that we will get some at the last minute, if not will keep watching for next week. Very irresponsible to take a day off school so early in the term but..............
what am I doing wrong? I constantly look at the site and there are never any tickets available - only opening ceremony £300....
Kbear, there was a flurry of tickets at 6 pm. I only knew about them because I have set up twitter text alerts on my phone.
kbear I just kept checking and was pleased to find anything available. I am pleased they have been so popular but sorry for everyone's frustrations. I hope everyone gets what they want.
Yay - I have managed to get Athletics tickets! We went to the Olympics but not in the Stadium.
Very happy
been checking all day still nothing <hump>
kbear read my post I started yesterday about grabbing tickets for the Paralympics it will help you immensely
kbear what is it you want specifically? There are tickets for some events at moment, or are you looking for something specific?
OK just got some swimming tickets for Saturday to go with my cycling tickets tomorrow so I am removing ticket checker from my bookmark bar now (thanks so much to whoever posted that link, I have passed it on so it has helped lots of people in addition to me).
Just wondering though, for those of you who have spent a lot of time trying over the last few weeks, do you think it makes it more likely to get tickets if you go for all full price rather than a mixture of adult and child tickets? Both times I succeeded I tried for children's tickets a few times unsuccessfully then got through when I tried for all full price, thinking that returns might be more likely to be adult tickets. Maybe it was a coincidence though and I have just wasted my money paying full price for the DC?
tickets for athletics tomorrow - ready to select, so I did, then pressed request tickets and they are not available..... SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM
unclekevin - thanks - have followed your advice
How many do you need kbear?
SCREAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM I got some!!!! Thank you so much - Athletics on Saturday - wish I had known about it for the Olympics....
i have just got athletics for monday (hope I am right that school isn't back until Tuesday!!)
finally - the one thing we wanted was to see the park, and now we seem to have tickets for 3 different events!
I have 1 adult and 2 child Athletics tickets going spare for tomorrow (Friday) night if anyone's interested?
I've just bought athletics tickets for next week. Went straight to checkout - amazing.
Bumping in case anyone would like those tickets ruby is offering.
cluttered think you may be onto something re the kids tickets..going to try just adults next time as I haven't been able to get anything when I request adult and kids...bit crap if thats true
It's just that I read on the returns website that you can't part-sell your tickets to leave children's tickets alone so if you had 1 adult and 3 kids' tickets someone after 1 adult and 1 or 2 kids wouldn't be able to have them. That made me think it might be easier to go for all adult tickets because if a group of 4 adult tickets were returned you could buy 3 of them. Even though it says there are child tickets available it doesn't say how they are parcelled up. However that is assuming they are selling returns and not tickets they kept back from the initial allocation. I don't think I can really extrapolate from 2 successes which is why I was wondering if anyone else had this experience.
I still have spare tickets available for athletics tomorrow evening
1 adult 2 child/OAP
kbear...so glad you took my advice and was successful in getting some tickets.
cluttered...hate to take the glory but it was me who posted the link for ticket checker, again glad you've got tickets. For anyone trying to buy ticket, go to 2012ticketchecker.com
Thank you unclekevin, i was too lazy to hunt back to see who posted the link, I found it much more reliable than the ticket alert tweets which kept linking me to tickets with no availability.
Hi all, wondered if anyone could help - we've got tickets for this Sunday and were planning to pick them up but a couple of days ago I got an email offering the option to print at home. This would be much better so I filled in the form but have heard nothing since - and worryingly it says once you've selected print at home you can't collect from the box office! I'm hoping the email will come today but wondered if anyone else had an experience of this? So excited now (me and DD) and don't want our day screwed up.
Hi Why there have been delays, you should still get it in time (check your spam mail just in case) but you can try calling them.
I also read on twitter that if the reason you have no tickets is email problems they will sort it out at the gate.
I picked my tickets up from the central London box office yesterday. There was a woman in front of me with exactly the same email problem and they sorted it out there.
Thanks, that's reassuring
Another MNer had the same problem yesterday: The print at home tickets did not come through but we had no problems at all picking them up at the venue box office.
If they do come through you can use them to travel instead of your games travel cards. The poster I mentioned also managed to travel with, I assume, her email confirmation and a print of the webpage that says you can use Paralympic tickets,
Oh that's interesting, I was assuming we'd need to buy a Travelcard. I know it's only about £8 but it's a shame to if one's included in what you've paid for. I may ring the ticket line later and see what they say.
That's brilliant, thanks
That was me!! And yes, just the e-mail confirmation of my tickets and a copy of that link did the trick.
The worst problem was the South West trains men who seemed deeply suspicious, everyone else knew exactly what I was rambling on about and just let me through. That was the first day though so they should be used to it by now
TBH, once we were actually in London, most of the gates were open anyway so nobody was checking tickets.
I think also, having an air of the provinces about us, made us far more plausible as visitors to London to see the games (I had clamped a piece of straw between my teeth and DS had a chicken under his arm
)
I used to live in London but am a total tourist these days so we should be OK! I'm glad to hear it worked for you, I'll definitely give it a go
Thanks SoupDragon - I was wondering how to take advantage of my travelcard with my print at home tickets.
Pleased to see people have found my link the ticketchecker site helpful. We're going on Sunday so we will probably pass fellow MNers somewhere in the park. Have fun everyone!
I have brought tickets for my parents to the paraolympics and chose pick up at box office however it says I have to collect myself. I have called the LOCOG helpdesk who wern't particularly helpful. Anyone know if I can give my parents confirmation ref and email and the box office would give parents the tickets?? Thanks
If I were you I'd fill in the for for the tickets to be emailed to you (or them)
Thanks, have emailed them now to ask them to do that.
The box office did check photo ID when I collected mine. Does your mum (or dad
) look like the photo in your ID?? Personally I think Frankenstein's monster could have collected mine using my driver's license.
My tickets have just arrived so with the travel advice above I think we are all set - really looking forward to it! Thanks to all who've posted useful links, it's made the whole thing really simple even for someone fairly clueless like me
More tickets for this weekend on sale now for earlybirds, I've just snagged a couple for tonight's athletics.
I have 4 tickets for the Olympic Park only for tomorrow - Sunday from 4.00pm
They are download and print at home, so easy to take up. £20 for the 4, face value.
I advertised these on my local NCT site, had 12 responses, but not a single please amongst them, requests from mothers with children, what hope is there for the manners of those children? ( Rant over!)
Hi,
Anyone still has those Oyster travel cards??
I am looking to buy the green oyster travel card for my souvenir collection.
I have already got the pink and the blue one.
Am looking for the green volunteer travel card and the limited edition oyster card for general public.
Please drop an email or comment here if anyone is interested in selling.
Thanks.
