credit crunched here - my bikini wax and waxing generally costs too much now - but don't trust myself to do it... anyone know anywhere local that is NOT richmond prices...??

Do you mind me asking how much are you spending? I live in the Richmond area. It costs me £30 for a full leg & bikini (basic bikini - nothing exotic blush ). I think that's quite a lot. I used to pay less in Clapham Junction, but can't bring myself to schlep all the way over there to get de-fuzzed.

25 for a brazilian....should i be doing a blushing sign too??! it only takes about 10 mins so i feel this is a lot...

That's just for the brazilian? I haven't had a brazilian in a while (too much of a wimp) But that does sound quite a lot.

You could try the Beauty Lounge & Cafe. It's on Ashburnham Road in Ham next to the German Deli (a bit of a journey if you live in central Richmond, but there is always parking space and parking is free).

I go there because I can take DD in with me in her pram which is helpful.

A friend of mine goes into Kingston - there is a little salon next to the Bentall Centre, opposite the main entrances to John Lewis. Can't remembe the name I'm afraid. She swears it's brilliant and cheap (she used to go to the same cheap place as me in Clapham Junction)

I'm going to try a new place in Teddington this week so will let you know if any good. Used to go to Beauty & the Beach in Twicks and they were fine. Don't know how prices compare to Richmond though but it was a good service & v. child/pushchair friendly too.

Just got the latest price list from the place on Ashburnham road. A Brazilian there is also £25 so no cheaper than where you are already going.

Lulubai - How much does the place at Ashburnham Road charge for a pedicure? Dd goes to a nearby pre school.

Kewcumber Tue 21-Oct-08 15:35:29

start epilating your elgs - its so much cheaper. Probably stick to waxing for bikini line though.

LuLuBai Tue 21-Oct-08 18:15:35

Pedicure there is £30. Never had one there though so can't tell you what its like.

I epilate most of the time (and bikini line too) but I like to get a proper wax every so often - particularly before holidays or at the beginning of the summer. Epilaters don't seem to pick up the finer hairs.

Kewcumber Tue 21-Oct-08 18:40:11

eyesight not good enough to spot the finer hairs so epilation works just fine for me grin (and other people are generally too dazzled by my white fat legs to notice either)

Ha ha ha Kewcumber years ago I went out with a bloke who was virtually blind, so I used to just whip his glasses off before I got undressed. Unfortunately I ended up marrying a man with quite good eyesight.

Ok been to one in Teddington, they charged £10 for bikini. They were good & quick, don't know if price is any good for you, but I'd go back there.

Mousie Sun 26-Oct-08 09:43:17

sounds interesting - what is the name of the teddington one?

SJ99 Sun 26-Oct-08 20:32:44

It is called the Ivy on Kingston Road, sorry should've mentioned that earlier!

Hi - don't know if you are still looking, but a leaflet just dropped through my door offering beauty treatments. A Brazilian for £14, full leg and bikini £22. Everything on the price list looks quite cheap.

No website on the leaflet, just a name and number: Nahid 07894 646 514.

The Green Room (Body shop) at Pools in the Park is quite reasonable - can't remember off the top of my head what prices are, sorry. Have been going there for about a year for bikini/brow waxing

LuLuBai Wed 29-Oct-08 15:15:14

Useful - Green Room prices are on their website. £30 for a Brazilian though, so if that is the benchmark treatment, tis not so cheap.

Mousie Wed 29-Oct-08 20:36:39

14 quid, that's more like it! thanks..

Elsa1979 Sat 22-Oct-11 20:55:59

Has anyone tried Nahid's services yet? :-)

I work from home as a beautician after having my boys. Advantage - your little one can come along and play with my 3 yr old whilst you get pampered. Brazilian bikini waxing is £20. Normal bikini is £10 smile
