Just realised dh is off work next Friday, I could lose my children and eat cake in peace with 2 hands and without dd stealing it! I assume it being a Friday you will only have dd?

Oh yes how odd. Quite useful though I suppose. Erm lift depends on what time you were wanting/what I'm doing. I assume dh will still be going to physio so I could take advantage of him not working to go to toddlers up Gilesgate then send him home with children and meet you...I shall consult

It is beautiful and sunny, I am full of cold and horrible, my children are not yet dressed and are just fending for themselves (quite happily I might add) but W is starting to get bored. Make me a suggestion.

had the vomiting bug, but not been sick since wednesday night

We could manage that. Ds has eaten a biscuit and is back to playing. Dd is considering getting tired, she keeps stopping to have a little rest and suck her thumb. I fear I may have to actually parent my children in a minute. Glad the vomit has passed!

BTW I appreciated your offer to help, was very kind. Couldn't think of anything that didn't involve exposing you to the bug.

Well I won't complain if you smell I am going to dress my children (a long, drawn out battle I leave later and later each day) then go potter around the track/park area collecting kindling. I feel sorry for ds, we missed toddler yesterday as the stove repair man came and he keeps asking to go to toddler boop/see tristain/do something that involves playing with other children.

T has spent most of this week (him ill, then me) watching Cars on a continual loop. So glad he has been at nursery yesterday and today, alleviates some guilt

where to go?

I like Cafe Continental with a toddler if you can get a downstairs table as the room is nice and small and square so you can't lose them. Chocolate cake can often be a bit dry but their chocolate truffle cheesecake is to die for. Other cheesecakes also good and lemon meringue pie is lovely. Nice looking lunch stuff too.

Vennels as we know loves children . Good soup and quiche and very good chocolate cake, vanilla sponge, pavlova and banoffee pie.

Leonards apparently now has an upstairs so there is more space to sit but it isn't exactly buggy friendly although it does have amazing muffins even if they never have the pear and chocolate when Igo it!

Esquires needs a mention as the only place with nappy changing but to be honest that doesn't make it worth going. Ok but not great.

Place near the library always looks like it should be nice with kids but trust me they do NOT make children welcome.

Rumbletums to good bacon sarnies!

Cathedral cafe is nice, plenty of space for a toddler to race around too.

Almshouses are a bit pricy for lunch but do nice big plates of stew and stuff now that it is colder and always have a good pudding selection.

There are a few places I've not been to honest!
