Hello Everyone,

After nearly three years on living in Swizterland and the UK we have decided to go home back to Australia.

I am sometimes very happy at the thought of going home, seeing old friends, and giving my two children a chance to experience a childhood in Australia.

But and a BIG but, I am worried about missing London, friends here (although they are also ex-pats and may move anytime )and the general experience of living os.

I am worried I will not be able to settle down back home, and will spend alot of time wishing I was here in the UK.

Has anyone returned home?? What have you learned? Do you regret it?? Any advice, help would be great.

Thanks

We were considering it for this summer, but now are moving to Antwerp. I think we'll be going back home two years afer that, but, it isn't home anymore to us and dd has never lived in the UK. Scary times ahead.
OTOH, the world is a small place, plane travel is relatively cheap and the interweb is a marvellous thing.

I was cut off in my prime. The internet enables you to stay in touch with people easily. My dd still emails her best friend from Bangkok every week or so.
For us it is important that dd is settled for her senior education. No other reason.
