Can Aussie parents or those considering moving to Aussie or who have ever lived in Australia or maybe even just own a hat with corks in, please look in here a tick?

I need a case study.

If you live in Oz, or have lived in Oz or are considering living in Oz, could you get in touch?

I need to know how you did your research. Did you go over there to find out what it's like first? Have you never been to Oz but are planning to move anyway?

Lemme know on this thread and I'll contact you if your experience fits what I'm trying to do.

There's nowt in it but a Mars bar I'm afraid. Or if you live near me, a pint perhaps.

Ta very muchly!

I'm Australian, lived there for 25 years. Live in the UK now (10 years). Go back yearly. Love the pants off the place! Happy to help if I fit the criteria.

I wish you lot would join our forum! The site is www.embraceaustralia.com - let me know what you think of it, as native Aussies. Is there anything more we could be doing to the site, anything missing? We've just started up so your input would be really useful.

I wouldn't mind talking to you all about what brought you over to the UK if that's ok. Can I CAT you all?

Moved back to Aust for a better standard of living.

I am a sahm with 2DC and another baby due in 5 wks, we couldn't have afforded 3DCs without me working in London. Actually we couldn't have afforded a house big enough for us all either.

We are moving into our new home which we built this weekend, 4 b/room, large garden - lovely!!

My family are all here but live about 6hrs away so we don't see them very often.

Dh (Brit) and I both feel that we can give our DCs a better life here than in the UK.

I needed a seachange, I was working really long hours in Sydney, having very little social life, broken up with much loved boyfriend and been single for a while. Just decided to jack it all in,went to the US for a month travelling and then onto London. Only barely knew a couple of people but managed to get by. Cut to 2 years later, great job, met my DH and we just decided to settle here.

I was young and single, was offered a nanny job and airfares to London so I packed my bags and went.

I just didn't get around to coming home...

Travelled loads, met DH, got married, bought a flat, had DD then suddenly had to start thinking about the future.

I am happy for you to CAT me.

Been in Oz 18 months, ex Scotland. DH and I were backpackers here 6 years ago and loved the place. Went back to UK to get married but always planned to come back. Applied for the visa, had ds, got visa, said bye bye and now we are here.

Do we fit your criteria?

I am Australian born and lived there for 24 years came to the UK for working holiday and see my DB who had been here 3 years. I met DH at a place I was temping at was married within 6 months and celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary last year. When my parents were alive I tried to go and see them about every 2 years funds permitting. Now all I have left is a brother and cousins and of course friends. I don't think I could ever settle there again I enjoy the life I have here. I do feel that I have had a better life here than my friends in Aus. although that is just my opinion.

I was born in Melbourne and did the working holiday thing too. I loved London and while working there, I got to travel around a lot.
I ended up in Italy and married an Italian.

Now because of his work, we're going to London to live. Even though I love London, I'm wondering what it will be like with 2 dc.

I miss my family terribly and wish I could live in Australia at least while my parents are relatively young.
