Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

Geneva Meet-Up Thread. Anyone for wine and chocolate by the lake?

(239 Posts)
Thought that we could use a seperate thread to save us hijacking TML's thread with our Geneva chat.

Who is interested?

Assuming some of us still have young kids, we could meet during the day for glass of wine coffee somewhere child friendly, or a picnic? Botanical Gardens? Parc de Eaux Vives? Or nearer Nyon area. Depends where you all are.

Or do you want to get out sans enfants in the evenings?

Awww cariboo - never mind.

Would a daytime meet suit you better? MmeLindt suggested we could go to Jim's for Fish and Chips one lunchtime - which I am REALLY up for.
What can I say except I "chickened out"?

By the time I'd googled Chez Ma Cousine (and yes, I know EXACTLY where it is, been round there a thousand times!), dh was home & the kids were pleading, "don't go, Mama!" & I was tired & it was very dark & a long drive to Place Bourg-de-Four so I said to myself "stuff it! I'll go next time".

Sorryblush

Aaaaaaaaaaaah, this weekend? Not last weekend? I was wandering around the campus looking for it. Bum.

Yes, it was an interseting and fun evening.

Let me warn you though, keep away from any fruit that Strudel offers you.

I should think so - drinking hot chocolate shouldn't affect your cleansing abilitiesgrin

Anyway - let's arrange another night out soon before everyone rushes away for Christmas.

Also merciless plug for all Genevois mners:

Winter Market at the LGB campus of the ecolint this sat and sun - come and buy my handmade christmas cards smile

Sorry, Cariboo, just seen this. We are meeting at Chez ma cousine in the old town. The big square at the top of the old town, where the cafes are, and a fountain. As you are coming up the hill on the right hand side, a yellow restaurant.

Email me for my handy no: mmelindt at me dot com
Ferney isn't much of a help to me as am next to Divonne but if you can tell me the name of the restaurant, I can get there (I think!) grin

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
