Doing a bit of a survey! DS is at an international school and we are aware that fees are increasing. Just wondering if other schools are increasing fees in this economic climate.

Ours went up in Sept by 10%, I wonder if they will try to increase it next Sept too. We will find out next term I suppose.

Thanks for reply. Ours increased for those paying local currency last year. We pay in sterling so ours didn't increase but it may this year.

They are planning expansion works but the facilities are not that great - particularly sports wise so it grates a bit.

Yes we have gripes too, mainly that they don't seem to be able to sort out a regular water supply. Water is always an issue in Nairobi. How are the dc supposed to learn about proper hygiene if there is never any water?

Buda do yours also increase the intake every year? I hear for September there is a record number of new intakes. And why do they only increase in local currency, does that not really cause some upset?

Hi TMAM

Water not an issue here thankfully! Our gripes are lack of sports facilites and parking.

Intake has been increasing every year - usually have waiting lists esp in more junior year groups. This year will be different we think. Lots of people leaving and with the economic situation there are not lots replacing them. So they are expecting some shrinkage I think.

The local currency increase did cause some upset last year! It was handled really badly too. Basically everyone got normal invoice and then another later invoice went out to those who pay in local currency. We didn't get it - we assumed it was because we always pay in sterling. There were complaints - lots of them! Head admitted it was handled badly.

Ours has increased but people are leaving in droves because of the Euro pound issue.

Ours increased in september. But they have massively invested in fab sports facilities/ new hall etc...
It's a consolation to actually see where the money goes.
