Got questionnaire on DD's health from Sécurité Sociale for a full check...

Eight pages of questions about her health, including my pregnancy and DP and my family antecedents, her complete illness record, living conditions etc...

And not one question about breastfeeding. Grrrrrrrrrrr. As if it were totally irrelevant.

Never heard of that Anna, is it a new thing? I'm sure I didn't get anything like that for my DDs.

I'm at the lack of BF questions. Or maybe not, given French attitudes to it...

It's for an "examen périodique de santé... orienté vers le dépistage et la prévention" at the CPAM de Paris. I don't know if it's new. But I feel like writing to point out that the breastfeeding questions are missing .

Oh I would, most definitely. Quoting lots of irrefutable medical evidence.

I would just refuse to do any of it. But my children haven't been near a doctor of any sort (touch wood) apart from a couple of accidents since they were babies.

The exam (actually a full morning of exams) is completely optional but if you decide to participate (and there are quite good reasons for doing so) you actually do have to go along with what is on offer and fill out the forms. Which are not bad per se; I am only querying the complete lack of any questions about how the child was fed/weaned in babyhood.

When we did it (and in the last 6 months I've done both the 4 year one for DD and the 18 month one for DS) the puericultrice asked if they were BF'ed and for how long, so it is covered in the exam itself. I actually found it quite useful because they were the first ones to spot that DD has really bad eyesight in one eye, something I had never suspected!

Take things for your child to eat and drink because there's NOTHING there - not even water! Otherwise it's not too bad because there's a large waiting room full of toys and small ride-on cars and on both occasions I went, I ended up having to take both kids and it went a lot more smoothly than I expected.
