could anyone tell me what the german is for the words:
bear, rattle, blanket, comfort are please? I want to do a google image search.

DD has lost her comfort toy. It was bought by a friend in Munich airport and I'm struggling to find a substitute.
It's got a bears head with a rattle inside, and it's 'body' is basically a velvety blanket in red white and blue.

If anyone in Germany point me in teh right direction that would be grand. If not, can anyone please tell me what the german words are for the above please?
Thanks

bear is (der) Bär
rattle is (die) Rassel
blanket is (die) Decke
comfort is (der) Trost

You might also find the expression (das) Kuscheltier/Schmusetier(cuddly toy) useful and/or (die) Kuscheldecke ("blankie").

Does it have a label on it telling you what company it's from?

Get in touch if you are struggling. I live in Munich ....

I know the kind. How big is it? Make? I doubt Deckw would be the word, if it's a small thing.

Oh, you might find the words (das) Schnuffeltuch or Schmusetuch useful too (they again mean something like blankie or security blanket).

hello again German mums.
A friend of mine is actually going to Berlin on Saturday so I've sent him a photo of toy and told him that it came from a shop called Vedes.

Does anyone know if Vedes is a chain or specific airport shop?

So pleased I could help!

You can't automatically have it delivered to the UK, but they will do it if asked, I think if you e/mail it should be fine, they will understand English I'm sure!

This is the e/mail address:

ooooh, thanks so much.
DH has a bit of school boy German and has ordered online. Didn't seem to matter delivery was to UK apparently, so maybe things have changed.

Will email them if I don;t receive a confirmation email from them by tomorrow.

Can't believe you found it ... was like seeing a long lost friend when I clicked on teh link and there it was!

From the website I think it says you just get charged extra if the customer wants special delivery or service so the should just charge you the extra postage - also says 2 working days to answer questions.

I took one of those from Germany to a friend in the UK and it was her dd's favourite toy too!

thanks for reading website and letting me know.

I've ordered two and will put away the spare one until she grows out of comfort toy stage. then I'll sell on ebay and will probably make a fortune

Someone should import them to the UK!
