About time for a Sydney Meetup

On the occasion of a certain someone's birthday thought it was about time we had another meetup.

All and any newbies welcome, dates? Sunday late August? Enough time to gird our loins.

I'll go and have a look at a calendar now

16th 23rd or 30th?

Also maybe somewhere inside, I've not been great at venue ideas so any other thoughts?

Count me in. I'm new to Sydney so no real ideas on venues. in terms fo dates the 23 works better for me!

Sunday late August sounds good - as far as I know I'm free all of those mentioned so far, excellent!

Hi MrsDe - nice to "meet" you, hope to see you at the meet up!

Venue - Helm bar again or somewhere new? Are any of us pg this time? I know I'm not but y'know... Just thinking we could try the Belgian Beer place, that does mussels lots of ways, maybe? www.bbcheritage.com.au/food.html
www.bbcheritage.com.au/downloads/BBC_BeersMenu_May2015_LR.pdf impressive beer list! Grin

Hi!

I don't think I'll manage this one, sadly. I've already got a girl's weekend planned for August - possible on the weekend of the 23rd, but even if it didn't clash, I would feel a bit selfish taking two weekends off in the month (not to mention skint Grin)

Will hopefully be up for the next one though!

Aww boo, never mind! We've still got to organise a Hunter Valley wine trip at some point as well, maybe when it's warmer though.

Hi, I'm up for another meet up - either 23rd or 30th are good for me Smile

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 22/07/2015 06:54

So putative date - 23rd August then as that's the one that so far everyone (except Terrible, who is wimping out Wink) can manage?

Report
bunnygirl80 · 22/07/2015 10:05

I can do 23rd.

No way I'm pg, but I'd rather push a baby out of my fanjo than eat mussels or drink beer!! (Sorry thumb!) I'll go anywhere that serves wine and food that's not mussels though

Report
ThumbWitchesAbroad · 22/07/2015 10:52

Oh boo! OK, do we want to go to the Helm bar again, or somewhere else?

Report
bunnygirl80 · 22/07/2015 11:16

They do have non-mussels stuff at BBC so it's not like I'll starve if the majority want to go there!!

Report
ThumbWitchesAbroad · 22/07/2015 11:17

Yes, their speciality is mussels but they have lots of other stuff. I can't work out if they have wine as well, but you'd think they would, wouldn't you? I'll have to phone them.

I've just come back to MN after years away, and just found this thread - can I join you?

Am a little freaked out at random "dont' know anyone" meet up, but really would love to.

I'm getting my brave big girl pants on as we speak Grin

Do you meet for lunch or dinner?

Talk about light fuse and fuck off for two weeks.

I can affirm that two outings in August may be too much I have just made a snake bite in my tummy and it's not even twenty past three. The things I do for art.

Nah should have recovered by the 23rd so bbc shall we say from 12:30

I think you should wear the fringed white number - very fetching.

And is snake bite in your tummy a euphemism? Ah.. cider and some incidental ribena possibly?

What a shame, I organised a class bbq. Not sure I could send everyone else and not go myself. Bother. Will see if I can summon some brass neck. Otherwise I'll keep a look out for your next meet up.

I'm in.
The BBC does lovely food & wine, not just mussels & beerWink. If it's the place I'm thinking of in Wynyard?

12:30 at the BBC on Sunday 23rd August - Lucretia, come on now, you'll have a blast!
We're all quite normal people Grin who just enjoy a bit of child-free wine away from the family for a bit.

So we're looking at
Bunny
Me
TooToo
MrsDe
Mashedswede
RVP
and possibly, if she can gear herself up for it, Lucretia.

I think CornishMade might come along too but she's not on MN much any more, I've to let her know separately.

Sure you don't want to come, Terrible? Wink

Does it need booking at the BBC?
