hi Tribe

We're arriving on 20th January. Still feels a bit surreal really, especially as we have Christmas between now and then.

At the moment we are hauling ourselves up and down the country every weekend trying to visit old friends before we go and before Christmas.
Only coming for one year though!

How's things with your tribe??

we are coming for a year as my husband has a fixed term contract. We will initially be living in Randwick (near coogee) but longer term may be in Randwick or lower north shore - depends on how the commuting looks when we get there.

I considered sending my husband ahead of me like you did. It makes perfect sense but didn;t fancy the flight with our daughter (currently 15 months) alone!

I didn't realise your little one was the same age as mine (born July 05). What a stroke of luck! They can amuse one-another while we sip on a glass of something!

We are also flying BA/Quantas (via a stopover for two nights in Hong Kong).

I was reading your post on the other thread about the houses your husband goes to look at going quite quickly. It's all a bit of a rush isn't it? I just hope we can choose a nice-ish area. You are going to be at the northern beaches aren't you? (or is that someone else?). I've been trawling Domain.com for ages now trying to get a feel for the prices and the areas.

One of my work colleagues leaves for sydney on saturday. We all went out for lunch yesterday and it suddenly all felt very real!

Why don't you CAT me and we can swap e-mail addresses so we can keep in touch and meet up?

Just pooping on to say hi. DH and I are both Aussies, but we live in London, after recent visit to australia we are thinking about coming back to live. We will be heading for Sydney as that is where DH is from.
I have also been spending a lot of time on domain. Am shocked at the price of houses in Sydney.

Shouldn't that be "so where the bloody hell are you?" tribeoffive? It might be childish but it still cracks me up every time I see that ad on tv - only the Australian tourist board would get away with it. (Have just realised you're not in the UK so you probably haven't a bloody clue what I mean!!!!!).
