What is life like? We are in London at the moment but considering a move to Sri Lanka.

DC's are yrs 4 and 7. Have looked online at the British School in Colombo and it looks promising.

Any info on day to day life would be so helpful.

Thankyou! Smile

i don't live there but i've visited often. sri lanka is a beautiful country but i'm not sure about living there in terms of lifestyle.

columbo is the capital and a bit more built up, but it is very shabby. the rest f the island is extremely rural.

MIL lives near there. We went in April. The capital is very hot and dusty but it is a lovely country. Planning on going in August.

Wow on 19th I was in Negombo, my 8th visit to a really beautiful country.
I would live there, but not in Colombo.
Scenically the south coast is fantastic and now, with the new motorway, much more accessible than in earlier years.
Your location probably depends on what you would be doing in terms of work.
Just remember, though, that there is a 100% purchase tax on buying property. Also remember that there is a 12.5% tax on certain goods and services.
Rather jealous, I would go back like a shot, even though I know living somewhere is not the same as spending a few weeks on holiday there.
