I've only just discovered this section of mumsnet. Seems people here move around a lot so I wondered if anyone would have any helpful suggestions on my current post-relocation predicament, detailed in an earlier thread, here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/2133423-Calling-all-those-who-have-moved-from-London-to-Cardiff
Many thanks!

Just pack and move. We did and we went to New Zealand ! The only difference is packing things in a load of cartons and have the removers put them into a ships container instead of a removal lorry.

Hi, hope I am posting in the right place. I have moved around a fair bit and lived in London. Change of cirumstance , and I relocated away from London. Its taken a couple of years to get out of missing all that London has to offer, all the things you talk about in your other post. However, my quality of life is far better in new location. What helps is getting to know people who also have lived elsewhere, ideally London, and you will have similarities. Eventually your London friends will also move out, and there will be less of a mental tie for you. New places, new faces are strange, and it takes a few years to get use to a place and its easy to look back at the great things in London and forget just how hard work it is to live there. Its a different pace in other parts of the country. I still find it difficult to work at that pace sometimes. Relax and enjoy what Cardiff has to offer.

Thanks for your reply frames. Sensible advice and good to hear from someone who's been through this sort of change.
