Has anyone got a RV or holiday home to rent in the US?

We are very lucky and have the opportunity for my husband to take 2 months out of work (I don't work), for us to take a break with our pre-school children (2 and 3). We would love to visit the US and have visited there pre children several times. We have looked into the costs of the well known companies (RV for rent etc) and also feel like using such a company / holiday home company might feel like 2 x package holiday rolled into 1, rather than a longer experience. So, if anyone has any accommodation in the US which they rent out or an RV I would love to know any information. Also, any recommendations re companies / where to find alternative / interesting accommodation would be very welcome. Thanks
