posting chocolate to Australia??

My sister tried to post some chocolate to me today but was told that the rules have recently changed and that sending chocolate in the post to Australia is no longer allowed.

Surely this is wrong??Confused (at least that's what I'm hoping). I have googled and found nothing to suggest that chocolate is now considered a 'milk product' and is not allowed.

I had a quick look and saw this www.daff.gov.au/aqis/mail/cant-mail It says that you can't mail "...other foods containing more than 10 per cent dairy, or 10% or more egg (whole, dried and powdered, such as cake mix, salad dressing, mayonnaise)"

I checked galaxy chocolate and it contains at least 14% milk solids. So I guess it depends on the chocolate.

Ah, thanks. I will ask her to check the % on chocolates in the UK. Hopefully there will be something she can send to me.

Also wondering if this applies to bringing food in through customs?
