As in ME! Grin link

Caliing Natation who is mistress of Belgian information, and all the others....we should start populating the page with info on schools, nurseries, clubs etc plus events. I will try my hardest to share the up to date info I lay my hands on.

It would be wonderful when we get newbies who are moving to be able to point them in the direction of a mine of info....

Please feel free to tell me if I am getting to up myself Grin

Congratulations. Where should I send info about events etc? There is a production of the Snowman in December, but I think it's closer to your end of the country.

I think you can just add stuff to the page. Then it's my job to ensure it is all in order, delete old stuff etc

A lot has been posted in the past about schools, nurseries etc etc. I will dig stuff out when I get time. Oh and of course I must put an entry about the Xmas meetup!

Well, by the power of magic and mumsnet, I can see it without clicking anywhere.
When I go to collect DD later on, I'll get the info about the snowman and add it. Your royal highness.

Brilliant news Porto, or should I say oh Great One Grin

Have heard about the Snowman, is in Auderghem I think...

Is it right that there's nothing on the page as yet? Oooh, will be great when it's up and running!

See you Friday/next week? xxx

Anyone been to the Snowman production in Auderghem before? I had the advert passed to me a few weeks ago, don't know where I've put it but remember it didn't make it clear if it's a full production or just the music? Anyone know?

monkeybumsmum · 17/11/2010 17:10

I think the first half is the music, and then the second half is the story?? Ruthchan told me about it, and I'm sure she knows more than me, as she's going! Will ask her...

Hurray! Unfortunately the link takes me to Bristol; mumsnet obviously don't know I live in Belgium!

Ah- you have to change your Preferences.....

I have put a few bits on there, but it would be great if you find a club, attraction, event etc to stick the info in there if you get a mo. We can build up a little database then.

Hi Everyone!! (waving emoticon)

Monkeybumsmum: Thanks for the heads-up about this thread.

Portofino: Congratulations on your new position. We look forward to all your fabulous info!

About the Snowman concert, yes, I am in the know!

There will be two performances on Sunday 5th December, at 2.30 and 5.30 at the Auderghem Cultural Centre.

The first half will be Tubby the Tuba and the second half will be The Snowman.

The performance will be by the Orchestra de la Monnaie with narration in English by Ian Forrester.

Both the Snowman and Tubby the Tuber were originally animations, but I'm not sure whether or not they will be shown during the performance. I have a feeling they might simply have the narration and the live music.

It's open to children of any age, from 10 months up apparently.

I got my tickets this week.
If anyone is interested you can apply by emailing:

Right, so you click on Local on the light blue bar, then Preferences. That should bring up

"Your home Mumsnet Local is XXXX. If you've moved house, or would like to change your local site for any other reason, please use this page."

Then if you search the list of all local sites, and Brussels is right near the bottom.

Thanks Portofino.
That made sense and the site looks great.

Do people also know that there will be a Holiday Market at St John's School in Waterloo this Saturday and Sunday?
It's being run by the American Women's Club.

You have to put these things on the local site ;-)

Porto, I just get asked for my UK postcode. I put in Belgium, and nothing comes up. I'm not exactly known for my technical capabilities so perhaps it's that.

Hi Ruth Smile

Hiya!!

Don't do the postcode bit at all.
Click for locality options and scroll down to Brussels.

Yay, done it, thanks!!! It's very good Smile Needs to be filled out a bit though!

So, the Xmas meet up venue is definate then? And the time? I thought it was at 8pm. I'll be arriving back from London at 19.11, so was planning on getting there by the skin of my teeth Grin Ruth, please can you order for me if I'm running late?

Off to chase ds up to bed bless him. He's sat there in his cuddly dressing gown and keeps telling me he can't go to bed as he's watching 'telebision'. Could eat him up Smile

RuthChan · 17/11/2010 19:19

I'll order for you monkey.
Dangerous request on your part!

I hope it starts at 8:00 too.
It'll be hard for me to be there much before then...

Don't worry. If I don't have a clue I'll just call you!

Report
Portofino · 17/11/2010 19:58

8 pm is fine! No worries there. I still need to check numbers and book a table. Maybe we could do the menu in advance and let them know. Should make service more efficient. I have friends over that weekend, so we have to convince bf that MN is the way to go - as I will bring her with me....and leave the blokes with the kids.
