Living in Portugal - Lisbon

We are thinking of moving to Portugal - probably Lisboon. Are there any mumsnetters out there who can tell us about life there? We are looking at St Julians's British school and would be interested to hear about that or any other possible schools.

Advice on the property market would be much appraciated - there only seem to be apartments available in town. The villas/houses out of town look good but I wonder how isolated we would be and what transport is like. I'd rather not be totally dependent on the car. Which areas are best for families - the area on the St Julian's side looks rather flat and less attractive than other areas.

Any experience or advice would be very much appeciated.
