Any Gay/Lesbian parents in the Bath/Bristol area?

Hi,

I am currently pregnant with our first child and we are very excited about the future. The one issue we have is that we don't know any other same-sex families in our area and feel we might benefit from being able to meet and chat with people in a similar situation to ours.

The majority of our close friends around this area are heterosexual and, while they are an amazing support group, we think our child needs to be able to grow up knowing other children from same-sex parented families. Any advise on gay/lesbian parenting groups or meet-ups would be fantastic

Hi Deeonll,

We're in the same position as you guys and live in Bristol. My wife is pregnant with twins due in Sept, and we have mostly heterosexual friends too, who are lovely but sometimes don't understand some of our concerns. I've joined the forum mentioned above, but most people on it seem to be up north, even though it is really friendly. Not heard of any specific meet ups in Bristol, but will keep looking!

Cheers,

O

Hi - don't know how much progress you've made but there are loads of lesbian mums in Bristol. Several groups with many families in each. Please post if you want any more info.

We are in Bristol - we have four year old twins and would be happy to meet with other LBGT families. It would be nice for my children to see others with two mums!

Hello! I would love to contact pregnant or gay mums in Bristol. My wife and I are moving there in the summer, hopefully with a healthy baby as I am pregnant now.

Hi!

I'm a third year student studying at Southampton University and i'm currently writing my dissertation on gay and lesbian parents and their experiences. I'm currently looking for anyone that might be interested in being interviewed? All interviews are anonymous, confidential and can be done over the phone, on skype or face to face (should only take up about 30 minutes of your time). Please message me if anyone is interested or has any questions!

Thanks!

Hello!
We are expecting our first baby in January 2014 and we would like to meet other same sex families/couples in the Bristol area. It would be great for our child to know other same sex families!
If anyone is interested in meeting up, please get in touch :)

Hi,

My Wife and I (both in our early 30s) are also expecting our first baby at the beginning of June and would love to meet up with anybody else in a similar position as we are still quite new to the area (Long Ashton) and defiantly new to the experiences of having a new born.

If anyone would like to meet up, please let us know.

Thanks
Clare and Charlie

Hello :) this is my first post but I think the time has come! I am in my early 30s and have a 6 month old baby girl - I very much want to reach out to and get to know other LGBT families as currently I only know one and they live in North Wales (bit far for a cuppa and a play date!) Any light at the end of the rainbow??

Hi there, I am looking at moving to Bristol with my soon to be 4 year old daughter and I am a single lesbian mum, are there any networks established that can link together lesbian mums??

There is an lgbt parents group on facebook that meets every month or so... Search for it or pm me and I'll send you a link. Pm doesn't seem to work from my phone :)

Hi, we are two Bristol lesbian mums with a 2 yr old, also keen to meet other families. We've struggled to find any established groups so far and would be really grateful for any info.
