Hello All,

I am a new Mum, to a lovely little boy who will be 6 month old next week. I have spent most of this year hanging out with some great new Mums in my area, but they're all straight and I'm kinda feeling like I'd like to meet some more women like me, not straight!

I live in North London, near Queens Park, and whilst it's Nappy Valley here, it does seem to be remarkably heterosexual and I'm starting to feel like the only gay mum in the village!

I'd love to hear of any groups that I could join, or indeed hook up with any mums in the area who might like a cuppa sometime...

Thanks for reading this post, hope to make some new friends soon.

Im in SW London, Wimbledon. There are a few groups, mainly in SE and Guildford (that I've heard of).

Would love to have a chit chat, maybe take my email?

Maybe we could arrange something?

I am not a mum yet, but we are going to start trying to start our family early next year.

We'd love to get to know other gay mums out there.

I am also in North London (tufnell pk/kentish town).

Look forward to hearing from you.

We are a family of two mums and a nearly five-year-old, and we too are near queens park - so do get in touch if yo're still in the area, coopergirl - our little girl loves babies!

Hello,

My name is Charlotte and I am currently doing my Masters in Social and Cultural Anthropology at University College London. The topic of my dissertation is looking motherhood, at how it is perceived and conceptualized by lesbians. I am also interested in what the perceptions and images of the family ? their structure and organisation ? are.

Lesbian motherhood has been very rarely discussed within British academic literature and is therefore very underrepresented in the study and discussion of motherhood. I would like to change that by giving lesbian mothers the chance to voice their views, experiences, and opinions on what it means and entails to be a mother. This study will be a chance to bring about new definitions and views on motherhood.

For this project I am looking for mothers who are happy to participate in a couple of interviews ? about 1 hr in length ? and some focus groups ? also about 1 hr in length. It would also be of great value to me if I could come and simply observe during the meetings. All information and personal details will be kept confidential.

Please let me know if you are happy for me to attend the group meetings and/or if you know couples who are willing to be part of this study. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me either via email ([email protected]) or phone (07513051425) or contact my supervisor Dr. Jennifer Randall ([email protected]).

Best,
Charlotte

Hi, I am currently making a documentary on gay mums and their journey to motherhood. I know this forum is old, but would anyone be interested in sharing their story with me? It will be part of my dissertation. I am currently in my third and final year at Nottingham Trent University. Message me if interested, it would be great to hear from you. Rebecca.
