Save / have in savings?

Sorry if this has been done before but I am starting to get worried about getting older and wonder if I am putting enough away.
How much are you able to save?

We are not able to save anything at the moment, except into the childrens savings accounts. We have around £7k in an ISA which was from inherited money a few years ago but we have never been in a position to add to it. We have 4 kids and just don't have enough left at the end of each month to save. We do both pay decent amounts into work pensions though .

Nothing although we both have pensions we've been contributing to for a while.
However, we are on the brink of clearing our debts, after years of struggling DH's business is finally paying well so by this time next year we should be debt free and saving.......can't wait!

but how will a load of people with totally different circumstances from your own, telling you that they save £1k a month, or that they don't save anything ever, help you increase what you can save ? confused
