Child benefit - have I missed something?

If I keep collecting child benefit I'll only have to pay it back in 2014 once I've done the tax return, so I will have the benefit of having the money now (as long as I remember to budget for the big tax hit). So is it better to keep claiming and pay back later?

Definitely better to claim and pay back. That's what I'm planning to do anyway. Already do a self assessment return each year so I expect it'll be managed away through my tax code in 2013/14. Also, if my salary drops for any reason I don't have to reapply
