Can you not get a crisis loan? What is the purpose of the loan?

Becky198324 Thu 19-Apr-12 10:46:26

They wont give me a crisis loan already tried, to feed and buy new clothes for my kids which are desperatly needed

Dropdeadfred Thu 19-Apr-12 10:52:00

Are you not on benefits? For food there should be some sort of family centre in your area that could help. Why did they refuse you?
Is this an exceptionally bad week or are you always short of cash? When do you next get child benefit?

Becky198324 Thu 19-Apr-12 10:54:14

Dropdeadfred Thu 19-Apr-12 11:14:44

Which city or town do you live in?

mumblechum1 Thu 19-Apr-12 11:17:22

http://www.trusselltrust.org/foodbank-projects

These food banks are in most towns these days. Give them a call.

There's a food bank here

It's in Birmingham.

Becky198324 Thu 19-Apr-12 11:20:58

thank you but they dont cover my area,

hathorkicksass Thu 19-Apr-12 11:21:18

So what you actually want is someone from here to help you and give you money? Hard cash?

Where abouts in Birmingham are you? What reasons have they turned down a crisis loan?
Have you looked at ebay for clothes, charity shops?
What food do you have in your cupboards maybe we could help with meal plans.

I don't think anyone here will give you money, but if you tell us what you have in your cupboards, I'm sure we could give you some ideas of what to make. How old are your children and when do you next get money?

mrspnut Thu 19-Apr-12 11:26:00

Contact your local social services, tell them you have no food for your children and they can either give you vouchers or put you in touch with a charity that will help.

Lilyloo Thu 19-Apr-12 11:26:48

A loan from a payday lender really won't help in the long run. If you have been turned down by these it is unlikely you would get a loan from anyone .

hathorkicksass Thu 19-Apr-12 11:27:15

Have you been in touch with Social Services? What did they say?

ShirtyKnot Thu 19-Apr-12 11:27:38

Contact Social Services and tell them you can't afford to feed your children.
