Right so we get ctc. Oh works but I don't due to dd2 being only 2 but as I'm on dla we get a very small amount of WTC due to disability element which works out about 8 quid a week. However due to this small amount it means you cant claim free school meals (10 quid week) am I right ?? Also means can't get don't stop me now activity vouchers or milk vouchers!!!!
Has anyone actually asked tax credits to stop their WTC for this reason??? Just wondering as I had a tax credit overpayment due to their cock up so they taking back 2 quid a week off ctc. I'd rather they took back 8 quid week off my WTC!!

Does your husband earn less than 15,000 otherwise you shouldn't be getting free school meals anyway.

Alos it's not a choice as if you earn work over the allocated hours you go onto working tax credit anyway.

Sorry forgot to add to my OP that yes he works ft but earns under the threshold for free school meals in our area. I've not been overpaid by much at all but surely if I ask to surrender my WTC then they are quids in getting it paid back 4x quicker and also I'm better off!

Not really, cos the money for the meals & vouchers etc all comes from taxes.
