Restraining Order

Hi, hoping to get some advice here.

My dad has been in an on/off relationship for about 5 years. Over the years itn has escalated and escalated, he has left countless times and made himself homeless to try and get away but somehow this woman keeps pulling him back in. What has happened basically is that she abuses him physically and verbally, I have seen him with black eyes and bruises and scratches. Once she attacked him and he pushed her off, she called the police and had him arrested for assault.

It all went to trial. During the period between the incident and it getting to trial they got back together. She claimed she wanted to drop the charges but the police would not let her. When the judge gave the verdict he also advised he was approving the restraining order she had applied for.

When Dad told her he obviously couldn't be with her as she had lied to him and now also could go to prison if he contacted her, she told him she still loved him and wanted to be with him, the restraining order was "for her protection" so basically if he displeased her she will be able to have him arrested as he has broken the terms of the order?

He managed to stay away from her but I have recently been informed by friends and family they are back together. The stupid man has even put photos of them together on facebook.

My question is, can I anonymously tip off the authorities to say she is abusing the system, without getting my dad arrested?

I know this all sounds very Jeremy Kyle but I am at my wits end. I truly believe if I don't try to help my father will end up dead or in prison.

Thanks in advance.

It was around June. I don't know how long it lasts for - I hadn't thought of that. I gueas if it has expired there's not much I can do.

They tend to last for at least a year and anything up to 5 years if it's been made by the criminal court.

I've encountered a situation where the police refused to enforce such an order where my client had initiated communication with her ex to arrange child contact. They said that as she's acquiesced in the technical breach as far as they were concerned she'd lost the protection of the order.

Now, I happen to believe they're wrong. But that was police policy round my way around 7 years ago anyway.
