Hello

I attended court last week over access to my son (who's 11 weeks old) my ex partner has applied to see him after attending court the judge ordered a section 7 report to be completed and granted no interim access to him until the report was completed which would be 12 weeks although he said the social worker could decide to give him some access does anyone know the likely hood of her doing this ?? The reason the section 7 report is been undertaken is because of his criminal record and recreational drug use he is undergoing a hair sample drug test also if this comes back positive what is the likely hood of him been granted unsupervised access ???

If the judge has ordered no contact until the section 7 report is completed then the social worker can't go against that and grant contact.

Likelihood of being granted access (supervised or unsupervised) will heavily depend on the suggested outcome from the section 7 report. In most cases judges go with the majority of the section 7 recommendations.

If his hair strand test comes back as positive I'd guess it will depend on how he reacts. If he admires substance issues and seeks appropriate help to deal with the issues then it's likely he'd still be able to have supervised contact.

He won't admit substance abuse he denied and denied in court even spoke over the judge ! If he tests positive and I still highlight concerns could the section 7 report go to section 47 report if Im correct with that number for a report

the judge has said that the sw may give him some contact - this could happen so that the sw can comment on what he's like with the baby

Will it be much contact if that is the case ? Also he works away and is going on holiday which means he won't be at home for the next six weeks so nothing can be done in that time can it ?
