I have a conveyancing solicitor working for me but I would like to hear from someone as I will worry loads! My solicitor is SO slow responding.
I am trying to sell a house but do not have an environmental permit for a small domestic tank discharge use in my back garden. A permit is required because I am in a zone 1 area for drinking water source. The environmental agency says it should be ok to give us a permit in theory but we have to submit a full technical application which will take 3 months for the permit to arrive.
I am in a chain and need to exchange contracts asap.
I would like to know if we could exchange contracts on the above without a permit (if the buyer is willing to take on responsibility?). Is this possible?
If not, where is the requirement coming from? A legal requirement for House Sales? Or is this coming from the mortgage lender?
Any light or experiences you can throw on this. Much appreciated.Thanks.
