Building reg. escape windows. Do we need these in all upstairs bedrooms?

We have windows in all bedrooms that have a small opening, but the hall landing windows opens fully to allow people to climb out onto the garage room in the event of a fire. A neighbour said we need to change all our bedroom windows to meet new regulations. Is this true?

No, you don't need to change them but any windows that you choose to replace in the future must comply with building regs.

Many thanks. That's a relief Smile

I would seriously change the windows if you have people sleeping in those rooms. Fire spreads very quickly
