I don't go on here much but everybody seems to have great advice and help on here. Here goes....
After nearly 14 years of marriage I want out. I've never been able to make H happy who's always wanted things his way. Goes out without me, controls all money and makes all the decisions and has always wanted to mould me into the 'perfect wife', whatever that is Confused He brings in £2,500 a month and as I bring in £1,200 working part-time(30 hours) to fit around school DD 12 and DS 9. Our mortgage is £700+ a month. I basically want him out and wondering if benefits such as working family tax credit would help with the mortgage without me taking him for every penny or am I just going to have to sell up and rent?

You should get £500 maintenance plus some working & child tax credits, so it is a possibility for you to be able to pay that amount of mortgage.

Look at the tax credit calculator on the HMRC website. That will tell you what you'll get between now and the end of the tax year.
